a patient is the same as a client or a customer sure. they are going in for a service and pay for it (or insurance).

but your prior comment implies the issues with patgilm's plaid are patgilm's fault, which is both wrong and insulting imo.

Fault in this context means responsibility. If you buy a BMW and it costs you a fortune once out of warranty, is that your fault? Ultimately yes because you should know they are money pits. It's like getting bit by a snake and you keep blaming the snake.

If you buy a Tesla and expect it to be as defect free as a 1993 Camry prepare to be disappointed. This is not the same thing as excusing Tesla, maybe you can't understand that distinction.

To your point, that's totally true, but customers, patients or whatever need to take an active role and take some responsibility, if its under their control of course. Not talking about @patgilm specifically, but if I bought a Tesla and it had obvious visual imperfections, such as misaligned trim or panels, chipped paint and such, I would refuse delivery. When my Polestar was delivered, I fully inspected it and once I was satisfied that nothing was broken or misaligned, I signed the paperwork and accepted delivery.Any hidden items or stuff I discover later is a different issue

Like any car I've owned there are always pluses and minuses. I would say I'm in between like and love. I love the smoothness, the looks, the instant power, the sound system and some of the tech like the fact that the car remembers to increase the height as I approach my driveway or sentry mode that records video when someone is near your car. What brings it down from love is the little things that many people forgive like my door panel, service (which is basically "use the app moron" for any questions), etc.

The interesting thing in my first month and a half with the car is how people rave about the tech, which is true when it comes to the motor. Outside of that I have to disagree to a certain extent. The car's auto high beam is the worst I've encountered and flashes people in front of me all the time compared to my BMW and Dodge and the auto turn signals that are supposed to be intelligent will turn off when I signal to get into a turn lane because it thinks I'm changing lanes instead of turning so I have to hit the signal button a second time. The other thing is the SiriusXM interface is the worst I have ever encountered in any car and my wife complains about it as well. The other thing that is noticeable (and my wife just brought this up to me yesterday) is that there isn't any or hardly any heat at your feet and your legs get cold, almost like air is coming through the lower driver's door. Several people have complained about this so I'm not the only one.

The other thing for me is the range when it is cold isn't close to the range it says and even my wife yesterday had a little range anxiety because it goes down so fast and I only charge when it gets to 100 miles left since I don't keep it in the garage and don't feel like reverse parking and running the cable under my garage door every night. I think I recharge my car twice a week where the M340 I had religiously got me through the week and sometimes more on a full tank.

I didn't have a choice, I needed a car since my other car was sold and I couldn't go carless for another month and I didn't realize when my car was delivered they started getting more in stock. The misaligned panel I didn't notice until I started driving home and by that time it was too late and I even asked Tesla if I could return it and they said no.

I don't disagree with you. Absolutely there is going to be some buyer beware based on a company's history. I went through the same thing when I bought my Dodge too know it wasn't going to be as problem free as a Lexus.

On mornings when it's in the 40's or below, my IS350 gets about 10 mpg until it warms up, then it will get maybe 17 or 18 once fully warmed. One benefit of plugging in every night, especially in areas where it gets cold is that your battery will stay warm, so you won't have to wait for the car to do a warm cycle. I didn't plug my Polestar in one night and the next morning it was 44 degrees, I got a message that the battery was cold and range would be reduced, so you should probably plug it in every night in the winter. Summer you won't have to worry about that

I did warn you by saying that first year Tesla's are notorious for these types of issues. I've had 2 friends buy their Model 3 and Y recently and it looks really well made so they are getting better at the older models . My take is that you could probably get your name in on an M5 CS and sell your Plaid for almost as much as you paid by the time your number comes up. That is always an option

I must say these issues would've been a deal breaker to me. I would be arranging to sell that thing ASAP given the stellar resale. You'll probably enjoy the car much more once this interior panel fitment debacle is over though.

You have always warned people of that so I did know that going in but I don't regret it at all. Even knowing that there was a chance of having some of these fit and finish issues I was still hoping I wasn't going to get a Monday or Friday built car but it is what it is. It has it's warts but all cars do. Heck I'm still warming up to my X7 and that's a great SUV. The alternative was the M5 Comp, not the CS but I am happy with my decision and wouldn't change it. I used to only buy Toyota/Lexus cars and was very biased towards them and once I started going outside of them, I really have an appreciation for different cars and really like the variety. My new wheels should be here in two weeks and my new tires just arrived today. I can't wait because as much as I like the looks of this car, the wheels/hubcaps are not worthy of a car in this price range.

The door panel misalignment was the biggest issue I have had because it's literally in my view every single time I drive the car and I was worried a new one wouldn't fix the issue but since it is clear that it is fixable, I'm extremely happy about it.

Interesting comments . The comment about the heat on the legs is something I never knew about. Toyota went on about floor radiant heating on their new bZ4x, will be interesting find out more when that vehicle is launched. . Thanks for sharing some of the criticisms about your car….hard to find real comments as so much about Tesla seems to be lost with crazy enthusiasm all the time

at the price point, it’s hard to believe some or quality issues.

When picking up a car. The excitement of a new car, very easy to not notice. Plus, one doesn’t really expect these type of things.

Very different North of the border. You don’t pay for services. Plus, it hard to go to a different surgeon or specialist as you’d require a referral.

haha. I like the yoke steering wheel to be honest. Although a signal stalk seems to make more sense that the buttons

You haven't been to a Honda Forum. When I announced that I sold my 2018 Civic Si and bought a 2010 IS350 there were people who wanted to kick me off the fourm, as one guy put it "you have no reason to comment here anymore". I was getting attacked right and left, luckily I had some people on there I had made friends with who stood up for me. Every car brand has its enthusiasts who defend their brand...all the way to the junkyard

I try to be objective because every car I have owned has negatives, it's just the positives outweigh the negatives. As noted in my signature one of my favorite cars I've owned is the LS600hL but it wasn't perfect either and had stupid little issues like a loose glove box that would rattle while you drove and was a known issue and the uncomfortable seat bottom issue where they had to put more foam in it. I can like and also be critical of a car that I own, doesn't mean the car sucks.

I totally agree. Never knew you owned a LS600h I always like to read the critical part, of someone’s ownership, more than the positive.
