Does he want a bunch of dead people who can't buy another one?

I still just can't believe this made it into production. I would crash that thing on day one, I'm a pretty good driver I like to think.

0-60 in 2 seconds with half a steering wheel for turns, what could possibly go wrong?

i wonder if the speed is different depending on whether you have the 19s or 21s? either way, it's insanely quick.

It will be interesting to see how the competition responds. Its obvious Porsche is near its limits with its ICE tech so will they add a 3rd motor to the Taycan and have it exceed the capabilities of their flagship 911? This Plaid isn't even nearly as quick as the Rimac coming out in a month or two so the bar is now being completely re-written with these performance EVs.

All I can see is that the sales of Model S declined around the time the Model 3 began sales. Makes sense to me that some sales went to the cheaper model.

The Model S is capable of adjusting the cabin temperature when you say something juvenile like, "My ***** are hot"—yes, really—but it can't select a radio station when you say something akin to, "Tune to 95.5 FM. "
Sometimes I wish they took things more seriously

I love my Model 3 and chose it over the Model S because of size and handling. With that said, I would easily give it up for this Plaid model which is phenomenal. May have to look for a used one in a few years

Thanks! That's very flattering and demonstrates the "open mindedness" of this community.

0-60 in around 2 seconds: amazing
waiting 10 minutes for the batteries to be 'conditoned' before you can do it? lame.

Yep agreed. I personally couldn't care less about it's insane performance. I'd just leave it in Plaid mode all the time.

Even my regular non-performance 75D that does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds is more than fast enough and I don't even floor it most of the time.

It's the "rest' of the car that makes it what it is - as far as I'm concerned

If you don't condition it, you'll run around 9.7s in the quarter. People on Youtube already tried it. It will still run around 2.4s to 60 without full conditioning which is still fast enough to smoke everything else. So a cold Plaid will still beat down everything but a Chiron Of course all ICE cars require multiple runs to get their best time while an EV will consistently put down the same times because its just easier to put the power down consistently.

meanwhile in the real world, it's all rather irrelevant.

That is exactly the way the car should be. No one should be listening to FM radio and when your ***** are hot you need them cooled.
