That was a cool well made video and fun to watch. My personal preference is the M5 but the Plaid is amazing. I'd love to drive or even ride in one.

nice to see your broad perspective... not everything is about brute force straight line speed.

True. Kinda different beasts but it would be hard to choose. I think if I was buying, I'd pick a Plaid but if I wanted to lease for a couple years, I'd pick the Caddy. I'd pick the caddy over any BMW though.

I'm really impressed with the Haggerty series though. Great production.

Funny thing is as I grow older I care so much less about numbers of any kind. As a twenty year old I was all about tenth of a second. Today I don't even care about a single or more seconds cause they doesn't make a difference.

Exactly. Once you get to about 4 seconds - 0 to 60, it's fast enough already.

It depends on the person. I felt there is a huge difference between a flat 3s vs. flat 4s car. I test drove a couple cars before my M3P purchase and the 3s car felt much much faster. I can't imagine a 2s car like the Plaid. I bet at speed, that CT5 V and M5 would feel similar and they are both low 3s cars but the Plaid would be on another level (it wasn't even really close on that drag race...bus lengths). Of course people may value other things like sound and handling which would make the CT5 and M5 better suited for them. I think that CT5 has way more personality than that M5 in that video though...600hp RWD manual car that can handle like that on magnetic shocks...its also much much cheaper than the other 2. Whats not to like

Yeah, a Model 3 Performance beats the snot outta just about everything out there. That's enough for me and that's the car I would buy. But I am sticking with the Mid Range for now...

in the late 90s, high 5s in a gs400 gives you the fastest sedan
in the early 00s, all the m cars and amg hit high 4s
within the past decade, high 3s become the norm for fast cars

and now we have cars hitting low 2s, that's fast.

i think we don't care because we are getting old, that's all. but making it irrelevant doesn't make sense. i am not saying it's the only metric to look at either though.

when i gun it in my tesla, my kids don't even think it's that fast

They've been 'conditioned' through repetition.

Speak for yourself . I'm not old - I love driving fast and do so whenever it's safe. . And 4 seconds feels plenty fast.

I can't afford a 2 second fast car simply because of the tires I'll have to pay for so frequently. 😃😃

dunno, my ppls are still not used to m3p gunning. I cant imagine how fast plaid is. Fun part is that driving fast does not mean going 130 MPH anymore, but you can gun and feel the speed at 50mph, easily.

Exactly. I will never do a 0 to 60 run, but I will merge onto freeways, pass cars, get outta jams, etc all the time. These cars flat out go, at any speed.
