2021 Lexus IS
My mistake. But my point still stands that Toyota out of the other car companies has done the best in the Covid era and some of the credit has to go to its CEO Akio Toyoda. Whatever Toyota is doing may not satisfy the car enthusiasts but from a business standpoint, it's outpacing its rivals.
Btw Tesla is still in nett deficit overall as its initial massive expenditure has not been recouped by its later smaller earnings. Some analysts say Tesla is still in its "cash burning" phase in order to gain market share.

BEIJING — Toyota Motor Corp's annual global sales of electrified vehicles could reach 5.5 million in 2025, five years earlier than initially planned, a senior company executive said at an industry conference on Tuesday at the Beijing Motor Show.
For context, Toyota sold more than 10 million vehicles globally last year, including around 2 million electrified vehicles.
Toyota in 2017 had announced a plan to sell 5.5 million electrified vehicles, including 4.5 million of hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles and 1 million electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles, by 2030.
Seiya Nakao, chairman and president of Toyota China's engineering and manufacturing, said auto electrification was progressing faster than expected and the top Japanese automaker thinks it can reach the target sooner.
Though a China-based Toyota spokesman said 2025 was not a formal company target now.

what other company has hybrid, plug-in, battery electric and fuel cell models currently for sale? Toyota does. Hyundai is the other one...maybe Honda.

LOL, well hard to imagine any other scenario.
toyota's going to continue with marketing FUD and "electrified" but not "electric" vehicles for as long as they can milk it.
i'd love my next vehicle to be electric, but i just think, for me, it's too soon.
yes, great reviews... love the audio system reviews - i wear good headphones and genuinely get a good sense of the audio system vs the vehicle noises. he LOVES the gx460 ML by the way, and i can HEAR why!

of course they did not. Literally new G16E-GTS just started production last month
Next steps are brand new engine series for V8 as well as V6 diesel coming next year.
2.4t with 300hp is certainly coming, question might be if existing block or something all new.
Plenty of engine development at TMC... and they have largest R&D budget in the world, they can afford to do multiple things at the same time.

I lived with the GX460 ML system for 6 years and I was never really impressed but that could’ve been because I had the ML system in my two LS’ that blew away the GX460 ML system so I could’ve been jaded.
The ML system in my 2004 ES was not as reliable and not as durable as the rest of the car. The CD Changer got jammed, the ML amplifier blew, the Subwoofer blew, the radio became staticky and wouldn't stick to the preset radio station on start up. I did not abuse the system - I take care of my stuff. And, of course, the parts and repair for ML components is more expensive which makes matters worse. I'm not an audiophile, but I don't need ML. I'll take it, but I don't need it.

Hybrids is the way to go until the charging infrastructure can alleviate charging and range anxiety. When that battery goes to zero, it literally means you are stuck. When a gas engine vehicle indicates zero, it means it still have a few gallons in there to get you to a gas station.
