I'm really hoping to see a full road test from C&D or MT soon!

I wonder why they flipped the checkered flag to the left with the 4th gen?

1LT: 60k
2LT: 67.3k
3LT: 72k

Theres a ton of options but heres the main ones:
Z51 Package: $5000
Magnetic suspension: $1900
Front axle lift: $1500
Certain Paints: $500-1000
performance exhaust: $1200
GT2 Seats: $1500
Wheels: $1000-1500
Seatbelt colors: $400
Calipers $600
Racing Strips: $1000
Exterior accents: ranges from $1000 to $5000
Engine Appearance: $1000

note to get access to some of the custom interior colors, you have to go 3LT minimum. 1LT only has 3 interior choices, 2LT has 4, 3LT has 10
Thanks for posting this.

I will need the 2LT to get the Front Axle Lift. Also need the Z51 package to get it's 0-60 in 3 seconds. Magnetic suspension and the exhaust. So about $77K before the actual "luxury" customizations. Looking more like a $80K car than a $60K car... With that said, still a super bargain for the performance. But that was the case for the C7 too. Need a badge delete option tho.

price hike for 2021? They have done it in the past within just a few months of release. Dont get too excited over the price. Rumor is they wont be making the bases until later on in the model year. If they hike the price even once in the first half of the MY like they did for the C7, the $60k price was pure illusion.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2020-chevy-corvette-stingray-price/

The previous-generation Corvette Stingray originally started life as a $51,995 machine in 2014. A few months later, the price jumped to $53,993, then to $55,995 in 2015. There's a pattern here, and if demand for the C8 Corvette is as high as Chevy thinks it will be, the $59,995 price isn't likely to stick around long

I think the mid-engine absolutely opens the gates for them to charge an arm and a leg. Just look what happened to the 2007 Nissan GT-R and where it is now.

Pre-order can only be done in dealer and and they allow dealer to mark it up for any amount they want. You can never get one for $60k so its literately a false advertisement.

There are literally hundreds of dealers--some with very large allocations--that are selling for straight-up MSRP, and the factory is only going to be producing sold orders for quite a while. If you go to one of these dealers and place an order for a 1LT with no additional options, you will pay $59,995 exactly (to the dealer, anyway, the government will of course get its cut over and above that). Of course some dealers will gouge--you can choose to not give them your business.

This is not false advertising.

The difference is that NSX, GTR, GT350 are all very LIMITED production.
Corvette is a regular model that GM has officially stated they will build a TON of. Therefore eventually supply will exceed demand and significant discounts will be available.

They are planning for more extreme versions a la Z06, ZR1 etc and those will probably have higher profit margins.

I (ultimately) agree with you in principle, but that is often easier said than done when the next closest dealer is a couple of hundred miles away.

There are 4,200 Chevy dealers in the US. For most even moderately-populated areas, chances are there's another dealer within 10-15 miles of the first.

Like you, I live in the suburbs of a major metro, which means that there are 7 Maserati and 6 McLaren dealers within an hour's drive of my house. Chevy dealers are literally everywhere. In less-populated areas you indeed might have to go hundreds of miles to find a dealer of one of those exotics. But you won't have to go far to find a Corvette.

IDK guys, at least here $80,000 Tahoes fly off the lots. The C8 will sell fine.

My buddy who sells them is pretty well off.
