Well, instead of just two days, I have been looking at his old 1999 for the last 20 years, and I will respectfully disagree with the disagreement.

Either way, probably a moot point....I think he will be replacing it pretty soon.

Good for him, the new model will be leaps and bounds better than the predecessors.

....and you just proved the point.

1. Not all cars have DRLs
2. DRLs are less intense than headlights
3. Taillights don't come on with DRLs unless you are driving an early 2000s Subaru or Volvo

You are arguing against procedures that are more safe, and I just don't understand why. Just because, is the only reason I can think.

Why are you asserting that a 2019 RAV4 is cheap inside by claiming that a 20 year old RAV4 is cheap?

You are usually the first one to defend Hyundai and Kia by (rightfully) informing people not to judge them on their (poor) quality from years ago, but to look at the current product line. But that’s EXACTLY what you are doing here.

You should really do a review of the new RAV4 XLE.

Huh?????? I never claimed a 1999 RAV-4 is cheap. In fact, I said, IMO, that, in some ways, it was more solidly-built than the new one, and I have my reasons for doing do.

I disagree. Apples and Oranges. Two different subjects. I'm not telling people to judge (or how to judge) the new vs. old RAV-4...that's up to them. I'm saying how I personally see the two.

Don't know if you saw it, but it was my End-of-Year Holiday Review last December. I actually looked at a couple of different versions, including the Limited.

.
It is interesting. If you look and watch, most of the participants in this forum really don't dwell, or comment on Hyundai from the past. I don't think many really care, it does get kind of tiring after a while. It is what it is. For me, I don't really find Hyundai all that appealing, if you add a big rebate, or low financing, then I start to see the value. For the most part, Hyundai and KIA are decent cars, they do not seem to command top resale value and their long term reliability is questionable. Their prices are good if you are looking to save. Hyundai has very good infotainment screens from what I have experienced and heard.
