Power lift gate closing on us
**update: Lexus dealer called. My car is the 2nd in the USA to have this issue. It’s related to being parked in high temperatures (located in NC/SC) and they were able to replicate the issue. Needs new motor and another part.
I’ve got a ‘19 LX570 and last week the power lift gate started closing on me as I was loading stuff in the car. I figured I’d wait until my 5k service and bring it up then. Today, it closed down on me twice and my 6”1 daughter had the liftgate pushing on the base of her head and I had to squat and lock my arms to push it back up. I’ve called my local dealer and they’re taking it in for service tomorrow. Hubby has a ‘19 LS and he was sitting on trunk/bumper with lid open changing his shoes and his trunk began closing on him as well.
Anyone had had this before

Welcome to CL.
Where's the button for the closing? Are you sure you're not brushing against it by mistake whlie you are loading? Or maybe, if the fob is in your pocket, the hatch-close-button on the fob (if equipped) hitting something else in your pocket..maybe something on the key-ring?

The button has to be pressed at the top of the liftgate (in open position) and key fob stays in my purse so it’s not ever used. I also don’t have the auto open/close sensor on this vehicle

Oh no! Please let me know. They have my car now and we confirmed another incident of it opening (we opened it) and closing on its’ own right away for no reason with my 10 year old getting something out of it. Hope they figure it out. We also determined the liftgate doesn’t beep when closing like it normally would and the tailgate was closed in all instances.
