Some states have laws against using remote-starters, or having the engine run while no one is inside the car, but they are (apparently) only rarely if ever enforced, and I don't know anyone who has actually gotten a ticket for it. The Owners' Manuals in some vehicles, though, will sometimes have a disclaimer, and advise against using that feature in jurisdictions that do have those laws.

My GS has Alexa integration. Guess I should check it out.

Yeah, but it's so cool to be able to say "Alexa, ask Lexus to start my car", that it is worth it.

TBH yeah Lexus needs to fix that.

Agree it's annoying but I don't really see how it defeats the purpose. If you use your remote start to warm up the car, then the car shuts off for 30 seconds or so while you get in and restart it, it's not like it isn't still warmed up.

Judging by the number of views already (almost 13,000) this thread alone seems to be generating some interest in the G90.

another quick update - this is more dealer-related than the car itself...

so reg service was today, plus the two items i'd asked to be look at. i got an email last week confirming the appt which also included info they had on my requests so I know they had the info in their system.

valet guy calls on the way (just before 9) says he'll be there at 9 as agree to. i go down, we trade keys, away goes my car. he says he thinks it won't take long. i'm thinking that's a bit surprising if they have to test drive for front minor vibration or that volume **** issue, but anyway...

get a call about noon saying car's ready and on it's way back... great i think, and i go down to meet the valet, swap keys, away goes the loaner.

i then look at the paper invoice inside the classy genesis envelope they provide it in, and see that neither of the 2 items i mentioned were looked at! oil change, tire rotation, and surprise, they replaced the wipers and air filter at no charge (nice!). but...

service advisor's card is in the packet so i email him what THEY SENT ME to show they knew about the items. i then called him. while not entirely apologetic, he said there was obviously a break down between the service call-in i did and the valet service. so he's going to call me back after he talks with his boss, and we'll be scheduling another valet for the 2 items. still, the wipers and filter (free) were a nice touch, and my car, which went over there FILTHY, is now GLEAMING SPOTLESS and shiny, not some cheesy once over.

not the end of the world and still more convenient than having to go there.

Hey, mistakes and overlooks happen.....these guys are human, too. Plus, unlike the technicians and service-advisors, I doubt that the dealership pays these valet-drivers very much.....they are essentially just shuttle-clerks, although I'd imagine that their criminal and driving-records are investigated before hiring them and trusting them with new and customer vehicles every day. Still, can't expect a lot for minimum wage....even though, of course, to you, the customer, it is free.

These types of mistakes cannot happen if Genesis is going to grow and succeed at increasing their market share.

This last post was about the dealer but the car.

Also, mmarshall, has nothing to do with the valet driver who isn't responsible for what service i want etc. As far as minimum wage I've no idea but I tip him $20.

Show me a business (or any other organization) whose employees don't sometimes make mistakes, and it will probably have its gates guarded by angels and St. Peter.

True, but if you say the car was vibrating, if I were delivering the car back to you like you said he was doing, traffic and road conditions permitting a speed high enough to do so, I'd at least try and see if the guys in the service shop actually got rid of the vibration or not......that's simple courtesy. And, yes, minimum wage or not, if I was going to get a tax-free $20 tip (that will probably buy a nice restaurant meal in your part of Florida), I figure I might as well do something for it.

Maybe it's JD Power you need to fill out then.

Anyways, have you tried the Genesis owners forums to share your experience? https://genesisowners.com/genesis-fo...g90-forum.105/
