BMW Agreed to this alliance as long as Z4 is top dog.
New B58 Engine comes in 2 ways - either 335hp for X5, 540i or 382hp for MPerformance models like new M340i and Z4 M40i.
I honestly had hopes Toyota would make custom block or heads, something- get Yamaha involved.
To slap on a detuned version of BMWs motor is just weak and lazy.
Based on that MT article- Z4 is more raw, fun and livelier.
If you got $50-60k get Corvette or new M2comp.
Either of those cars have much greater tuning potential compared to B58 Supra mated to ZF auto trans.

They also cost half the price.
This should be compared to Cayman, M2comp and Corvette - all of which are designed better imo.

When you option it out to make it an M2 competition you're at $67K, add the taxes etc. You're over $70K. Not to mention dealers mark up the Competitions and don't negotiate much on them if at all.

I would truly rather have this than an M2.

With every option which there is only 2 - DCT and Executive Pack = $64k
Also new Supra will have Toyota dealer markups of at least $5k.

I was hoping it would be around 380 HP as early rumors suggested. 332 HP is kind of disappointing. Even though, it will be ight around 3500 lbs test weight, but horsepower sells cars these days.

Very good video of the Supra that does it much more justice in looks than any of the FRS like pictures I've seen thus far:

Because I don't like the M2. I think it stubby and goofy looking (as ST430 said), interior doesn't do anything for me. I like the styling of the Supra, I like the interior better and I'd much rather have that.
