Interior shots of the A90 Toyota Supra. Like I said before the actual release, to some disbelief from others, I told you the interior was 100% BMW. Besides the fact that the engine, chassis, and transmission is BMW.
The electronics are as well. As well as:
The radio controls.
The AC controls.
The Shifter.
The iDrive.
The buttons and switches.
The interior door handles.
The side mirrors.
The headlight switches (isn't a stock behind the steering wheel - its buttons on the side like the newer BMWs) How is this even Japanese? Majority of Japanese car use stocks behind the steering wheel.
The steering wheel buttons are from an older generation BMW as well.
Nothing about this car is a Toyota. I think Toyota really dropped the ball on this. They dragged it on for too long and released something that is barely Toyota. *Like editors on Autoblog said, you peel back the Toyota badges, Supra badges, and the exterior design - it'll become all BMW.*

I saw the intro on Livestream.
How can the President himself, Mr. Toyoda, stand there and be proud of this Supra?
The whole time i was thinking how embarrassing this whole thing is. Then he said the Supra is lit lol.

Perhaps Toyoda-san isn't taking this new Supra too seriously - as perhaps the consumer should also consider doing.
I mean it still has an inline six, and they did what they had to to make that happen. I mean they wouldn't develop a brand-new engine unless they saw multiple use cases for it. Why would they develop a new inline six when they are developing so many other engines (Dynamic Force, the engine in the LS and the other rumored new turbo-four Lexus engines, etc.), leaving no room for the R6 to be useful?

Well. I don't think Mr. Toyoda really cares for the enthusiasts market. This Toyota Supra is created for the mass market. Its created for the kids and old wealthy farts that know nothing of the Mark 4.
I think the Mark 5 (A90) Supra will sell decently. But it will not be taken well by enthusiast drivers - as we can already see.
a 10 inch wheelbase shrinkage from FT1 concept jacked up the proportions. Just look at that tacked on silly door vent that creates a mess of extra lines and gaps. yuck. pass
I would have paid $50k for something close to concept in size, but this is just a suped up FT86 at most.
I love the styling of the car. (if this car is bland, what car isn't bland? Sheesh) I do however agree about the interior. Very odd to have it just be a BMW interior...
BMW engine, BMW electrics, BMW interior, man this thing is going to be a nightmare out of warranty.
and yet millions of people throughout the world include many friends of mine thoroughly enjoy their german cars long out of warranty with no 'nightmares'.
