Currently, the GS350 (19/27) and GS460 (17/24) are tops in class in mpg. I think the Genesis 3.8 and 4.6 should come close to those numbers.

According to Lexus, 0-60 for the GS350 is 5.8s, and for the GS460 is 5.4s. The Genesis 3.8 and 4.6 should come close to those figures as well.

The official website for it shows it comes with the Hyundai steering wheel--leather etc....that equus pic I've seen on here in another thread, Chinese Chery one I believe that someone came after in that thread and said it was built by Hundai but is not the Genesis.

Just more idle speculation, but in about a year, the mags will probably be testing some serious V8 machines against each other:

342 hp GS460
375 hp Genesis 4.6
382 hp E550
390 hp M50
400 hp 550i (4.0L tt).

The twin-turbo 550i will blast everyone else out of the water of course.

This is another thought.
This may NOT succeed. It may rust on dealer lots.

And in 2 years, you can get a car built to compete with 60k cars for 20k.

Like the Q45 or last gen M45 or Phaeton. It could happen and some used car buyers will love it.

Holy shnikes...

Air Suspension and Variable Damper: it wrote if you drive over 120 km/h for 10 sec, the car will be lowered about 15 mm and go higher about 30 mm while you're driving on the rough road.

Also, it comes with

SCC(smart cruise control),
AFLS(Adaptive Front Light System),
DIS(Driver information system),
Lexicon sounds system with 17 speakers.....

Agreed. Though I am assuming that plastic strip in the middle of the grill is for the radar cruise? The 04-06 LS has it.

Newer Lexus, its built in the emblem.

Its like an Infiniti. I30 tails, G35 sides, even the interior has the old Q45/M45 interior look.

Looks like they've relocated the battery to the back. BMW does this also. I guess it's mostly for weight distribution and freeing up space in the engine bay.No one likes a cluttered engine bay

from carspyshots, first korean review

Well, here's a pretty long video review of Genesis. (18 minutes I think). It's in Korean.
http://auto.joins.com/content/news_f...&pageshow=1###

Just click on the blue play button. You might encounter a lot of buffering. So what I would suggest is, once the video starts playing, hit the pause button and wait for about half hour. After half hour or so, the video should be all loaded onto your harddrive, so you can play it back without buffering.

This guy is quite critical of Genesis and does not have much good things to say about it. His complaints are:

- High prices. (starts at 40mil won and goes all the way up to 65million won. And that's for V6)
- Inability to pick individual options, especially for base model, which has no option.
- Extremely overpriced options. (5mil won for nav and DIS - driver information system)
- Worse warranty than the cheapest Hyundai being sold in the U.S.
- Overblown advertising campaign. (boasting adaptive headlight as something of a technological innovation. Also, dynamic ride, which he says there is very little of)
- The car fails to deliver the positive characteristics of rear-drive platform, and not much different from FWD.
- Manu-shift totally useless, since the transmission automatically upshifts before peak power.
- Vehicle stability control kicks in way too early even when turned off.
- At slow speed, ride is firm. But oddly, during high speed corning, there is a lot of body roll.
- Inadequate brakes, only having 1-piston brakes. (v8 model has 4-piston)
- Very poor tire that does not offer much grip even with 225 width.
- Seating position too high
- Nervous at high speed.
- 6-speed auto's shifting logic is not so sophisticated

Overall, he likes the 264bhp 3.3liter engine, excellent ergonomics, pleasant design, and spaciousness, but he is very disappointed with the driving characteristics of the vehicle (and the prices, which he said it made him "angry" to look at the price sheet. You can see him snickering constantly as he looks reads the price sheet LOL) I've seen most of this guy's video reviews and I've never heard him being this critical. I guess there was a lot of expectation riding on this car, but it failed to deliver.

Not feeling it personally. It looks like a Nissan Altima/Maxima.
