im VERY impressed by these pics.
i agree with the article - the front picture makes it seem like somehting totally UNhyundai like. lines are very nice and overall design suggests upper marque vehicle.
REALLY GREAT work from hyundai for 30K car with great power.

If Hyundai priced it in the $55-$60K range, people would buy a MB or BMW.
Its an entry level Luxury car.
They should have just made a new Luxury division brand like Toyota/Lexus.
I do like the way it looks though.
It looks like mix of MB and Lexus... On the side profile, front 1/3 looks exactly like GS.
It will be interesting to see what it is priced at. Since Azera with normal luxury options costs 30k, I dont get why people expect Genesis to start at or below 30k.
I see that it doesnt have smart key - interesting for 2009 MY luxury vehicle.

However, I think Hyundai needs to create a more stable brand themselves before introducing a second brand...
No it does have keyless acess. It has smartkey, where as long as you have the smartcard or key fob on you, you just turn "key" to start the ignition, similar to the Acura RL, Cadillac CTS, etc.
I actually think the front of the car reminds me of the new S class.
But overall it exudes a very upscale feeling. Price?
im just calling it these:
tier 1 (3.3l V6 "base") : $28-$33k
tier 2 (3.6l V6 "premium") $34-$39k
tier 3 (4.6l V8 "flagship") $40-$46k

They have said it will start at under 30K. That most probably means high 28-low 29 figure, using rationale. Yes you have a point about the azera that starts under 30K. However, since they have it starts at under 30K, youd be a fool to go buy a base azera instead of picking this up.
No its not a fake key. Many cars have this instead of a push button switch.
However, from reading the press release, it says push button so the rpess release pictures we have seen dont show that option.

i see derivative styling everywhere, and i mean everywhere on this car:
- wrap around l-finesse styled ls460 headlights
- front hood acura rl profile
- lexus IS front fender style
- mazda styled fog lights
- bottom chrome lexus gs350 door guards
- Infiniti g35/m35 c-pillars as well as shoulder crease through the side.
the only thing kind of unique is the taillights, but they are odd looking.
