Uhmmmm the GS got RAVE reviews for handling, it was one of the reasons the car won import car of the year and was a 3 time 10 best winner.

You don't win those awards with shoddy handling. The GS doesn't handle as well as a 540 but what other luxury sedan does?

Nice idea, but poor execution IMO. Way to much white leather IMO. Im liking this model more and more.

Are you surprised that a car is selling close to MSRP? That's what they're suppose to sell at. And the Genesis is a new hot car, it would surprise me to get any off the msrp at all. If a dealer is offering well below msrp then it means the car isn't selling and nobody wants them (American cars).

I agree. They'll sell them at MRSP or close to it as long as there is demand and buyers are willing to pay it. When demand falls off then OTD prices will come down. It's always that way with popular new models.

The goal was 20,000 overseas. I would think that at least 80% of that would be US.

where else is it sold? not sold in Europe?

Still, thats very low goal for car advertised as Gensis is... It makes little sense. Or maybe they were lowballing it.

Who builds the car with target to sell 3x less than segment average?

Well, for those who didn't believe me when I said the Genesis drove like something between a GS and an LS.

Edmunds seems to get the same impression, and took it a step further.

Just FYI. In yesterday's paper, a Hyundai official was quoted saying they
expect 20% of Genesis sales to be V8's and 80% V6.

Well I've seen a couple now on the road and I think they look the part. Great proportions.

I was with my G/F and showed her the car without telling her what it was. She commented it looked very good. I told her it was the new luxury Hyundai and she was like "a Hyundai" and I explained how this car is REAL DEAL.

There were some nice cars parked where I saw the 2nd one, it was black, including a new GS 460, M5, E classes and it did not look out of place.

Kuods again to Hyundai here.

Glowing review.

A car this good simply boggles the mind. But armchair analysts see the derivative sheetmetal and questionable Hyundai dealership experience going over as well as a fart in church. Be that as it may, the Genesis 4.6 stands well on its merits.

Its amazing that a country that had its first democratically-held election when Toyota was building a pseudo-autobahn now makes a luxury sedan that runs with the class leaders for a fraction of the price. The Hyundai Genesis 4.6 is the car Lexus made in 1989, and the one Detroit killed decades ago.
