Lexus TZ Debuts!
And then also stop telling other people how their annoyances with EVs aren't valid.
Shouldn’t be. If I get here with 15% range that’s plenty.
This is the main concern of people who haven’t adopted EVs, so 95% of buyers. So it’s going to get discussed as people decide to adopt EVs.
Come on, you’re a smart guy. You know the difference between being stuck somewhere with a vehicle that needs charged and having a dead phone.
So I’m in WV now, we stopped at Buc-ee’s for about 30 min or so getting food and shopping and using the bathroom, so a 30 min stop here would work well.
The outlet is in his shed, it’s not a garage and would require a long cord. It’s not wired properly, it would have to be redone in order to use it safely
I think the thing to do is to rent a similar EV and drive it down here and see how it goes firsthand. If ABRP is being conservative it might not be so bad.

He has been literally one of the biggest EV advocate on here for years, when it was other people's money and other's people complaints about how they fit into their lives and schedule. Now, literally one extra stop for 11 minutes a few times a year is a disqualifier for him.
But so can experience. You're planning this trip using a large, relatively unaerodynamic and relatively inefficient vehicle. Which is all fine, as it's still a great EV. But experience will tell you that if you are going for max range the trick is to find the sweet spot between range and speed. The Vistiq is actually quite good, but it's still going to have to overcome aerodynamic drag that squares with speed. So you might find lowering planned speed just a few MPH will actually get you to your destination faster because it will give you the efficiency boost that saves or shortens stops.
overall, I reckon you'd get this to work the way you want it to. But do be careful with apps like ABRP because it is set up out of the box to deliver an almost worst-case result.

What? I made a handful of posts in the EV thread, hardly any of them were even argumentative.
I don't even have much interest in EVs, they don't fit my lifestyle and NYC will never get sufficient charging infrastructure.

Hard to keep up with the narratives here. Now Toyota is going all in on EVs and will become the leader? I thought it was super smart for legacy auto to drastically scale back electric vehicle plans.
Today, the midlife refreshes are a big improvement, though obviously no long range for Steve.
However, I'm sure give it another 3 years till 8ES and TZ midlife refresh, and TMC may have a long range option for Steve.
I'm sure TMC will catch up.
Maybe even lead?
Who knows?
If Toyota ends up selling 10 million EVs/year it would be awesome, 2-3x reduction in cradle to grave energy usage. From a business perspective it's not exciting, Toyota will be lucky to make the same profit per vehicle (currently this is $1,300) it's a sideways business move.

And if a couple of extra stops a year for 11 minutes is more than a minor annoyance, you needed need to pull that stick out of your *** and learn to handle such a minor compromise that come with change if you really want an EV like you claim.
Or just wait until it works like ICE does, which is what you really want.
