I could live with a Trailblazer (and the current Trailblazer actually had a better dash-design), but, yes, the Encore GX does have better road-manners. That's a choice I'm going to have to make sometime in the next couple of years....but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I remember when you had a Fusion. That was an excellent sedan for the price......both the first and second-generation versions. It's too bad Ford dropped it....and Lincoln did a nice version of it, too, particularly the 2Gen MKZ.
The Fusion was indeed very good, one of the few Ford products I like.

On the theme of this thread if I for some reason end up not buying the 50-70 acres I want to acquire for development then I guess I'll buy a 2017/18 TTV10 Audi R8 in all black or silver over red with black optics pack on both. I really don't think I will vs the current plan as my goal is to hit 35k income a month doing "nothing" before I am 35......but I really want an R8.

I have no desire for a new sedan right now but if I was to get something the only one I really have eyes for is a 2020-22 BFSS in Mercury or Veridian over dark brown leather with a type 2 split and all options.

No desire or need for an SUV right now as I just replaced the Jeep with an XC90, a TDI Q7 would be nice but I really do not feel like having to care for a car like that as a daily tool.

Last thing that I actually may get is an Audi A2 manual TDI, I really want one to match the R8 and W12s as the perfect trifecta of ASF cars and to serve as a very cool local area car. Import process is a PITA though so I am attempting to have one of my overseas .mil friends buy one and have it shipped back when they finish their tour so I likely will not get it this year. I really really want one though, it's the perfect contrast to the other cars plus is legitimately really special from a technical standpoint and I would be very happy to drive it around on days where I don't want to subject one of the high end cars to a start cycle or rain etc.

Might get lucky in Cali, if you ever head that way…

One vehicle I am highly interested in, but I do like my CT, is the Lexus LBX. Have many friends overseas (they do sell it some parts of the Western Hemisphere) and they really love this vehicle. Hope this comes to the States one day.

This is our last minivan, but the Carnival doesn't come in a PHEV which my wife really wants. Regular hybrids don't interest me, only PHEVs. The Carnival is also pretty crappy inside compared to the Pacifica.

Why the L model? The third row seats are basically unusable.

I would buy a Kia, we'd consider a Telluride if there was a PHEV or a EV9, but the EV9 doesn't have enough range.

Not for younger and also older kiddo(s).

Sharing rides to and from practices with other parents makes it very convenient. Hauling kid(s) and friends to wherever also comes in handy.

Yes, kids eventually grow, but for years the third row came in handy with our kiddos and I refused to get a van and be that “van mom” — no offense.

Also, if your have adult back seat passengers, the kids fit in the the third row just fine.

Oh I get the benefit of a third row, we have a three row vehicle also and only would replace it with a third row, its just that the third row in the RX-L specifically has literally zero legroom with passengers in the second row. I tried and there is just literally maybe 3 inches of space between the backs of the second row and the base of the seat in the third row unless everybody in the front 2 rows were pushed forward. Even with little kids we found it worthless.

No argument from me about a minivan lol. Minivan wasn't my choice...

Well not wanting to be a "van mom" means you missed out on a much better family vehicle. Absolutely can't beat a van with a young family. Most importantly, the kids love them. We had vans when our kids were little and now we have small grandchildren it's no different. They are happier in the van and it's so much easier to get them in and out.

Thats for sure, BUT as a car enthusiast I admit if my wife had not insisted on minivans we wouldn't have one. For me the tradeoff in utility is worth having a vehicle I enjoy looking at and driving and the minivan has just never been that for me. For her though since she is not a car enthusiast the tradeoff was totally not worth it and the minivan has made her life with young kids so much easier and better.

I will say though the PHEV Pacifica we have now is the most enjoyable one we have had. It drives great and I love the EV driving, the Pinnacle trim makes the interior legitimately luxurious too. BUT, I would trade it tomorrow if the wife would sign off lol

A minivan is objectively the most optimized car shape/package.

Gotta be a family enthusiast first. Anything else is sub optimal IMO. Some of my wife’s friends used to have a go at her for being a van mom, but curiously their own kids preferred being in our van rather than their mom’s SUV, and when it was time for an adult evening out you can guess which vehicle the adults always wanted to take.

I might have… to each their own.

Lots of other moms had them and I’m sorry, not sorry, but I just couldn’t bring myself to get one. Vans were not aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.

That said, I must confess our third row SUV was an MDX, which might? have had more room than an RX L.

Also, I understand kids come in all different sizes and mine just happened to fit or squeeze in until they were old enough to drive themselves and had their own cars.

Now that I’ve downsized to an NX, we shall see how we’ll do with grandkid(s)…
