what will your next car be and when?
I think this strategy has kept Lexus from being seen as an aspirational brand.
Nobody wants to get what’s there.
Luxury shoppers want things the way they want it specifically and are happy to pay a premium to get it. Lexus should do a case study on high end fashion / watches. Their brand value has declined over the years.
Toyota on the other hand has a more interesting lineup than at any point since the 90s heyday maybe. You have GR, TRD subrands and overall solid offerings at every level. I do wish they would bring back a new V6 engine especially for the big Suvs.

thanks! Plus it buys me time to see if Lexus has anything cool in the next couple years, I only drive like 2-3k per year, since I work remote sales, so equity should stay high for a while. I also want to see the next gen S and 7 to see how they shape out.
Any issues with your LS500? The 500 has a controversial powertrain found in other models.
I keep going back and forth on whether or not I really "need" a 3-row SUV, or if I should just say F-it, and buy an RX without it. No doubt a 18-22 RX with the options i want will be MUCH easier to find without the 3rd row. I want the triple beam headlamps and HUD, in either Matador Red, Atomic Silver, or dark blue (can't remember the actual name of the color off-hand). Hard to find in any used RX, virtually impossible in the "L" model.
Most people who have, or need, a 3rd-row have at least a couple of kids or more.

But as an SL owner, I can tell you that it's my opinion an LC500 convertible is massively more desirable than a new SL. It's how far that car has fallen and how good the LC is.
So it's not allllll terrible. I actually see more new LCs than new SLs around town.

They definitely were at one time. I used to lust after them back in the day. Now, there's only one Lexus I'd even drive. One.

I'm looking to buy a vehicle that can be a family vehicle but ALSO be a premium vehicle for my wife that telegraphs success because she's out selling real estate now...a Lexus still accomplishes that.
Epic dad joke mm!
