General Car Conversation - 2026 Part 1
There are other concerns too. Diesel isn't available everywhere, mostly only in industrial shitty neighborhoods, the pumps are filthy, spillage all over the pavement and the pump handle, gotta carry a glove to hold the pump handle other wise your hand smells for days. Any type of repairs, the are no mechanics to deal with them, it's either old school guys used to work on 1950s farm equipment, or a clueless young guy trying to find spark plugs, lol. Hard no.
Except for the fact that it offers an AWD option (which is also the case now with the Pacifica), I sometimes wonder why people keep buying Siennas. IMHO, the body-styling is ugly (as is the case with many Toyota front-ends). The interior materials are mostly cheap and unimpressive plastic...although some vehicles (particularly Chevys) somehow use plastic inside and don't make it look or feel cheap. And quality control does not seem to be what it was years ago....what Toyota was once famous for. My ex-Flight Instructor (whom I am still friends with many years later), had two Siennas, and both had warranty issues that he said was unacceptable the way Toyota handled them. After several decades of loyalty, he's about done with Toyota.

The Pacificas are great minivans for sure! We've had both Siennas and Pacificas as rentals and you really cannot go wrong, at least in my opinion.

Haven't seen you buy one yet. You seem to agree, by past and present ownership, that Kia and Chrysler do a better job....although Chrysler reliability can be suspect.
Toyota reliability today, while not the worst by any means, does not seem to be what it was decades ago, when Toyota and Honda wrote the book.

Toyota's reliability is still industry leading, I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe thats no longer the case.

Toyota, Mazda, And Other Brands Are Cracking Down On Broker Leases And Sales
https://www.carscoops.com/2026/05/ne...ker-crackdown/
So more sales funneled towards mfgs is bad why exactly? Dealers aint gettin their cut?
I didn't buy the current version of the Sienna because I don't like the 4 cyl hybrid powertrain, had nothing to do with styling or material quality. When I got the Kia and the first two Pacificas the Sienna was a very old product dating back to 2010 and it was really outclassed. Thats not the case now. Not a buyer any longer because we're not buying another minivan. I would seriously consider the Sienna now though that the PHEV Pacifica is gone, and I think its MUCH better looking than the Carnival.

Here's a good video on the subject...I like this guy. He has a lot of experience with the brand, and explains the situation very well
