I think GM still puts that 4.3L V6 in the Express van.

 

Got the S580 dropped off. CEL has not come back on but hopefully they will just replace the 12V battery, I do get routine low voltage warnings and the app always says its "partially charged".

Have a GLE350 loaner. These are a very nice vehicle which is tragically let down by the 4 cyl.

back in 2022 when my parents were getting a GLE there were like no 450s anywhere just 350s, it had to be a factory order which the factory then screwed up... my dad was about to give up and just get a 350 but i practically had a tantrum and insisted he HAD to wait for the 450, so far he's definitely grateful haha i couldn't imagine that big car with the same little 4 cyl from the C class

 

The 450 is like an entirely different car! So worth it. The 48v helps the 4 cyl but it just doesn't feel premium, and in fact I would take the 4 cyl GLC over a 4 cyl GLE, it just feels less incongruent with that car.

 

So they did a computer update and supposedly that solved the battery issue. We’ll see. It is now showing as fully charged in the app at least.

the temperature up/down buttons do have a nice positive click to them, the rest are just fine they don't feel particularly premium but not flimsy either

and yes the GLE has nice 'oh ****' handles i can see those being helpful as a passenger in an actual offroading situation lol... a place most GLEs will never see
