Sucks not to be able to rapidly and universally reload though, also have to suffer on trips if you tend to do those.
i NEVER have to ‘reload’ locally ever since i charge at home when i need to. and there’s plenty of charging places on a trip everywhere i need or want to go. if a trip were say 400 mi. or more i’d fly. and no ‘suffering’ since i never drive more than a couple of hundred miles before stopping, no matter what kind of vehicle. maybe a bio break or just want to stretch.
apart from everything i’m sure your assessment applies to someone.
Comparing an LS430 to a V12 S600 is a ridiculous comparison...the S600 was twice the cost of the LS430. Nobody buying new was comparing the two. Compare it to an S430 or S500 of the same year and the LS430 is a much better car for less money. My Dad always wanted an S Class but when we drove them back to back there was just no contest, the LS430 was nicer inside, rode better, had better tech, was quieter and more refined feeling...AND cheaper.
Thats why the S Class at the time came in last in comparisons and LS430 came in first.

Same, over 400 miles I'm flying.

I didn't buy it because I didn't even know it was for sale at the time and I didn't want to make a snap decision on something that had ABC suspension.
You keep moving the goalposts. I have never said there was a Lexus equal to the S600, I said the LS430 was the superior car to the S430 and S500...and it was. We tried to justify the S Class because thats what we wanted but we just couldn't, we weren't considering an S600 because we weren't looking at that price point. You have to compare cars to what they reasonably can be compared to. Nobody cross shopped an LS430 and an S600 when they were new, because the S600 was twice the price. its like me cross shopping my S580 with a Bentley Flying Spur, comparing the two makes no sense because of the vast cost difference.
Bottom line is if you were shopping for a luxury sedan under $90k in 2004, 2005 the LS430 was almost impossible to beat. The only reason you would buy something else is for its brand or its character, on the merits it was almost impossible to beat. Of course when you started talking about cars that were twice as much (an S600 was $130k+ then, LS430 was ~ $70k loaded) its a different story.
Even today, if I was going to buy an old flagship sedan from the mid 2000s, I would buy an LS430 and not even consider any of the other cars. They're too much downside risk for not enough upside benefit.

What car has Lexus ever made that is equal to an S600?
Answer the question and stop deflecting/coping. Your skill issue/willingness issue of being unable to maintain a higher tier car doesn't concern me or have relevance to the question.

They have never made any car equal to an S600 lol. I never said they had. I don’t care about higher tier cars than what I am buying. V12s don’t interest me because I would never buy one.
You’re arguing a completely different point. My point was that at the time the LS430 was arguably the best car in its class. The S600 isn’t in its class.

Luckily my kids inherited my total lack of athletic ability.
