General Car Conversation - 2026 Part 1
The vast majority of Pacificas sold are the gas model, so if they were redesigning the Pacifica I would see why they might drop the PHEV...but they just gave it a very mild facelift, the design of the PHEV system is so long since paid for, cancelling it just makes no sense.
Less cylinders doesn't mean the overall package is better on MPG, it's very common in trucks and full size SUVs that offer 6s and 8s for the 8s to win irl due to lower strain and better relative pumping losses at a given speed

Yes thy do, none of my trip computers have been perfectly accurate vs actual distance and fuel pumps. Most have been optimistic and oddly enough I have two cars that under rate the mpg by .5-.9
Probably a big consideration as many people use minivans for construction work, etc.
And of course, just like EVs, PHEVs mostly appeal to a limited market segment of buyers who are able to charge at home, although it seems even without charging the hybrid system is quite effective. Not sure if it's enough to offset the price premium though.

My first choice though is diesel. Can't beat it
Welp, the 460 ended its streak of no error codes. Spare tire TPMS sensor was angry about something, rotating the tire 45* in the trunk seems to have solved it. First issue I've had in over 30k miles

I wouldn't touch a diesel with a 20 foot pole, especially a modern one. Had two of them, too many downsides.
Just delete them lol! They are wonderful with all the BS stripped off and have unmatched full economy and feel great to drive day to day.
There are other concerns too. Diesel isn't available everywhere, mostly only in industrial shitty neighborhoods, the pumps are filthy, spillage all over the pavement and the pump handle, gotta carry a glove to hold the pump handle other wise your hand smells for days. Any type of repairs, the are no mechanics to deal with them, it's either old school guys used to work on 1950s farm equipment, or a clueless young guy trying to find spark plugs, lol. Hard no.
