I think this is an example of someone who has an ordinary ICE car who doesn't want something quirky and odd in an EV. I'm in a similar boat. For instance I wouldn't want an iX because I don't like how they look inside or out, same with the Lexus RZ. Thats why I suggested the Cadillac Vistiq, because it looks and feels like a regular ICE vehicle.
If he is looking to go for an EV replacement, and he is looking for RX type ride and features, I would say the BMW iX xDrive50 is a good choice. I haven't driven one, but I have been in one as a passenger. Not a fan of the front grill, but it doesn't bother me so much that I wouldn't consider one. Pretty good specs:
