Reason he chose the 20s over the 19s. He preferred the look of the 20s.
I guess ride quality is subjective.
It's not subjective, summer tires equals rougher ride, more NVH. When I bought my IS350 they had Summer tires, those had a louder ride, more road noise. Changed them to AS, and ride quality was way better, road noise went away. In an EV with no engine or exhaust masking road noise, Summer tires are going to be have more NVH, more road feel

This is my friend with a model YLR and model 3LR (with acceleration upgrade) who I sometimes share some of these posts with who mentioned to me long ago that Elon has a burner account on this forum. 🙃
And I agree about summer tire vs AS tires. Recently switched to AS on the X7 and ride quality improved (I think, 1100+ mile roadtrip next month) as well as the ride quality on the LX 570 was improved with AS tires vs the summer tires it came with.

That's why I don't use summer tires unless I have a performance vehicle that I don't daily drive. Besides, they have lower treadwear, are more expensive and don't last as long. For my driving, AS does the job 👍
But when people make up stuff up about bad ride quality, I can only SMH
They're not making up their own opinions. Everybody has their own idea of what "good" and "bad" ride quality is and it depends on where you are coming from and what you are used to. To me, something like an IS or a Model Y or a 3 Series etc does not ride well, because I am used to and prefer a soft riding car. I am able to take myself out of my own preferences and think about a vehicle compared to the segment its in, but not everybody does that.
What you are neglecting to understand is that I've been on the "other side". Maybe it's you that just doesn't "get it"
Lets put it this way, you said your Model 3 rides "almost as well" as an M4 Comp. That is a very firm and hard riding car. So that right there tells you a Lexus RX rides much softer.

I don't know why you are fixated on this. I've never said the Model 3 rides softer than an RX, not once. It doesn't have to, it can ride as well as an RX without having soft suspension. It's been established it's not the car for the OP anyway, so not sure why this continues to be discussed.
BTW, M4 has a "Comfort" setting for the suspension which has a very nice feel
M4 comp in comfort mode is still a very firm car, not a soft riding car at all. Not fixated on anything I’m just arguing against the idea that people who don’t like something about a Tesla have an axe to grind or are making things up.
If you want a soft ride, the statement “it rides as well without being as soft” makes no sense. If you want soft and it’s not as soft it doesn’t ride as well.

Lets please stop discussing Tesla. I've already made my suggestion of car to the OP, which is not a Tesla
If he is looking to go for an EV replacement, and he is looking for RX type ride and features, I would say the BMW iX xDrive50 is a good choice. I haven't driven one, but I have been in one as a passenger. Not a fan of the front grill, but it doesn't bother me so much that I wouldn't consider one. Pretty good specs:
