100 miles left, I start planning where else I can go. 🤣

A) I have gas
B) I could use some gas
C) I need some gas
D) I’m about to run out

A) 1/2 tank
B) 1/4 tank
C) E (DTE 0)
D) Below E ( - DTE)

When I reach C, I start thinking about it. When I reach D, I start planning/headed that way.

We’re talking about gas vehicles. Not EVs. ⛽️🗽🚗🛻 There are gas stations on almost every corner!! I plan to stop when I really need gas.

My friend just sent me this from today. I sent him the pic earlier when I filled
up the Prius. It’s like a game 🤣

It’s a Toyota!! It’s been proven the Tundra and a Lexus/Toyota hybrid can go 1 million miles with basic maintenance.

I will always keep a Toyota in the stable!!

Yet you have clearly run out of gas multiple times and I never have even once. I win lol

It's not a "decision" or "obsession" (wtf lol) to run my car bone dry lol. It just happens sometimes.

I personally think it's really unnecessary to refill before the light comes on, however.

He wasn't talking about you with the "obsession" thing...its clearly something that BayeauxLex enjoys...which is odd lol

Its not "necessary", but it reduces one source of stress in your day. I just get gas when its convenient for me. On a trip for instance if I have less than half a tank and I'm going to stop and eat, I will also gas up...keeps me from having to stop again and leaves me fuel for when I get where I'm going. Vs stressing about rolling into town on fumes and having to stop before I go unload etc. I have enough stress without having to worry about running out of gas.

My wife ran out of gas once after I told her endlessly do not do that, it just causes disruption to plans and can be far more unsafe vs the "annoyance" of filling at 1/4th. I made her help push it to the gas station and she has learned from that experience......

If I was running constantly through one of the biggest cities in the nation and was constantly on the go I'd get gas sooner for sure.

I don't think I let it run down much in LA but that was ten years ago, I can't quite remember.

That’s my issue with an EV on a trip, you can’t just stop whenever you want and charge, you have limited options

If you want to look it that way. However when I ran out in the Tundra, I had 5 gallon jerry can in the bed. I literally just passed a Shell station. I pulled over to the side, splashed some fuel in the tank, hopped back in and kept going. I wanted to see how far if needed can I go with the fuel light on. There’s countless threads on tundra forum with guys asking how big is their gas tank.

Running out of a gas is my least concern. A low fuel light doesn’t trigger an ounce of stress.

I have 8 vehicles to fuel, couple tractors, SXS’s, portable generators, lawn mowers and lawn equipment plus other farm equipment. I’m at the gas station enough already. I’m not running to the gas station at 1/2 or 1/4 tank of gas. If needed, I will just drive something else. You may remember me saying sometimes I will drive 3 different vehicles in one day.

There’s a 600 mile tank on 3rd gen Prius on Prius forum. I had MPGs going one tank so I went for it.

Below is how far I drove with the last gas bar flashing.

I learned form the Prius forum and from experience, the last gas bar starts flashing with 24 DTE and if I can average 45mpg I can go another 100 miles before needing to refuel.

I have no interest in running out of gas or knowing how far I can do when the light comes on. Happy to have never run out of gas in 27 years of driving. Around town I just get gas once a week and never have to think about being low on gas.

Forget running your gas tank bone dry..you should see the debate going on about plugging in ever day and filling your EV battery to 100%. 45 minute intermission is over. 2nd period just started.

Around here. If the price drops..Jill fills . Don’t care about yellow low fuel lights

Thats not what the debate is about. It’s about charging everyday vs charging less frequently lol
