Scratch-Out works very well on conventional clearcoat paint (I've used and recommended it for many years)...but I wouldn't recommend it for matte-finishes. As some others have posted, too much chance of screwing them up.
I had one of those too. Weren't they exclusive to the SE? I had three SE's in a row - Different generations.
Yep!! SEs got the spoiler, black window trim, foglights, and those bad *** white gauges.
I loved that car, minus my cars that are simply just much nicer it's by far my favorite I ever had, that Maxima. Mine was even a 5 speed. Bose stereo was killer.

Amazing V6 engine in that thing.
Mine had everything too except the 5 speed. They were great cars, and Nissan did a good job of marketing the SE (4 Door Sports Car baby!).

Mine was fully loaded, black on black. "Super Black" was the name of the color, awesome. Those 5 spoke rims looked sooooo good, too. I was so lucky to have that nice of a car at age 18.
The interior of that gen Maxima was supppppper nice, almost Lexus quality pretty much. Even though it was simulated the leather door trim looked great, the actual real leather in there was sumptuous, all the switches felt great, and it drove great. They put a lot of money into that generation's interior. The next one 5th gen wasn't nearly as nice inside. I had a 2002 I35 that didn't have as high quality interior than that 1997 Maxima (it was still pretty good though). The stereo sucked too, whereas the Bose in that Maxima rocked.
II use carwashes 95% of the time lol. Hand washing is too much work.
interesting (thought you'd use car washes less given your detailing hobby)... i find with the foam gun it doesn't take long and car washes just don't remove florida bug splats.
I spent too much time paint correcting to do anything but handwashing.....at least for the nice cars. Everything else is machine washed if I remember to do it at all
