The RAV4 PHEV pricing always makes me wonder how folks justify the price on those models, the other variants are fine pricing wise. Plus you do want to plug in every night so you one is most efficient with the parameters of the power train.
We are talking base luxury x3/nx pricing, which fairness will be barebones but still nicer to spend time in. In the toyota side one can pick up a mid tier highlander/sienna with more usable space, less power of course
As a side note, if you lease to buy within the first month you can capture some pass through ev credit, but thats also going away in the near future and depends on cost of post lease buyout costs/interest rates.

When I open the shade in the MDX wife and kids complain about the sunlight directly hitting them.
Wasn't the RAV Prime a pretty good car? I know it was in heavy demand a few years back.

My PHEV Rav had premium package which are difficult to find. My local dealers never had one with premium package. So I had to travel to locate one. Far as pricing it was $8k more than our RAV4 limited hybrid in which it has every option minus side molding. Even came with the $75 charging cables 🫣
PHEV Rav great car. Replaced with a X7
And yes we plugged daily sometimes multiples times daily.

Most people don't opt for the PHEV. But, let me give you an example, my wife loves the PHEV. There is no doubt in my mind that she would choose a PHEV Rav 4 over a non PHEV NX. Of course you would plug it in every night, we plug our PHEV in every time we park it.
As for the EV credit, if you lease the manufacturer can give you the credit as a rebate. Depends on whether they will or not. I got the $7,500 credit when we leased the Pacifica, when if we had bought it I wouldn't have gotten it because I make too much money.
When you call people sheep that’s a negative connotation.
i don't see it as 'negative' it's just a behavior description, people following other people's leads. better than lemmings i guess.
Case in point you just bought the pressure washer I bought and everybody else was saying was such a great unit for the money, that doesn’t make you a sheep.
chatgpt - create an image of a proud sheep.
People don’t “want what everybody else has” they find comfort in seeing that lots of other people are satisfied with a product.
can't follow that, but you throw around 'people' like everyone's the same. many people absolutely do, buy, etc., what their friends, neighbors, acquaintances do, buy, etc.

most 'people' don't opt for phev because they either can't afford the up charge or they don't think it's worth it. you and your wife obviously can, plus you lease, which is less of a cashflow hit.

I'm not saying they don't, I'm just saying that doesn't mean those people don't think for themselves they just have trust in what they see people they know having and enjoying.
A great example of this is in my industry. Because we have had a strong sellers market for as long as we have people are used to competing when they buy homes. Its a strange phenomenon, people want to compete and when they aren't competing, it makes them uneasy. The validation of more people than just them wanting the house brings them comfort.

Sure, but there are of course people who want the PHEV more than they want the more upmarket car. That was my point.
As for the cashflow hit, the PHEV Pacifica is about $200 a month more than the similar gas Pacifica to lease, so still a huge increase...almost 40% more.

With ice/cheaper option now gone from the lineup, and toyota committing to pushing phevs more so than ever, will their phev options get cheaper? Right now toyota is pushing/passing the majority of the ev credit regardless of how much the owner makes on leases, but if thats gone will we see an equal reduction in phev msrps?

I doubt it. As long as enough people opt for the PHEV they won't lower prices.
