Agreed on the noise, use an active exhaust unless you have something that actually sounds good. I will never complain when a high rev car does a bridge flyby over lake behind my house lol! Some of the local guys have F430s and 360s and it's awesome hearing them go full bore for the 1/2 mile, same with some of the liter bikes etc......
Some some $#!%box V6 infinity does it though it's just sad, those are the worst even vs a 4cyl since they are much louder
Same. Was out shopping with the family recently and could hear bikes hauling on a nearby highway. Couldn’t see them but they definitely had my attention 👂👂
Don't look to me as an example, I straight-piped my LS460.
In my defense, it is entirely obnoxious and I have valvetronic mufflers (active exhaust) being custom fabbed as we type. Should be here mid-late March. My Ram is muffler/resonator deleted, and I like it unless I am towing a box trailer or travel trailer. That gets old on long trips. But I can't hear shat anyway from the war, so the LS460 doesn't bother me. my wife hates it and because she drives it sometimes, I made the concession and ordered the active exhaust setup. It's not cheap, but it ain't chineseium either.

Went skiing today just outside Toronto. Really cool to see people using their luxury cars in all weather conditions. Not afraid to get their cars dirty
I have always liked the rear lights on this gen C class

I used to attend and participate in car shows years ago. Modding is somewhat 2nd nature but it’s not for everyone. I can’t think of a vehicle I would not mod. Maybe a GT3 RS or GT2
Sport mode available?
The only thing I wouldn't touch is an LFA, that's perfection in GT form
Like I said I thought the 4 felt fine in the C300 I had, and in the old GLC. I don't like it in the E or the GLE and I guess we have to add the new GLC to that. Very application specific.

I love how all MB cars have mounts on the roof for crossbars.

Never knew that. My Matrix has them. I like that Mercedes does that.

Oh it's even cooler than you think, when you use them the ESC programe knows you have them attached and alters it's profile to accommodate for the increased weight up high.

I guess I look at it from the standpoint I hand wash our cars.

Definitely can’t touch the LFA!!
I hand wash too but that's why I love my ceramic, all those pictures you saw of my D4 W12 with salt/crap just washes off without me having to touch it. It's freaking awesome and takes 20 min end to end including drying since I just use a blower to fling all the droplets off
I have always had different exhausts for my cars and I do like the sound. On my Viper I had exhaust and hi flow cats and the drone in it at certain RPMs sucked but I would just drop a gear and it would be fine. In my MKIV Supra I had zero cats in it and I never had drone and never had any gas smell but it was on stock turbos with only increased boost. My GTR I only got rid of the cats in the midpipe vs. the downpipes because I've read how bad is smells and all of the soot that gets on the bumper which stains it. On my M340 I got a high flow catted downpipe and it was perfect, not too much louder and sounded better than stock. My Cayenne comes stock with the sport exhaust and I always keep it on sport so the valves are kept open, I just like a nice V8 sound and the Cayenne is enjoyably loud.
On each one of these cars I always passed Maryland emissions even when they put the sniffer on the tailpipe, even on the Supra which had no cats whatsoever so I think the cars these days run pretty clean.

Hell yeah man!
You can indeed easily pass the tests when new, the systems are designed for a "average owner" to live long enough to meet specs for 10/15 years of getting beat on. If the engines are warm, in closed loop, and in great shape you would be stunned how clean they are even without cats or with very small ones due to the very nice modern control systems and tolerances.
I only want to hear the sound of the engine when I step on it, when Im cruising I don't. That's what I loved about my IS350 (after installing the F-Sport intake), throaty roar at full throttle, ran at a quiet 2000ish rpm at 75 mph.
Call me a grumpy old man, no resonators, no want it

Haven’t opted into ceramic coating yet.

I’ve been so back and forth between catless and catted. Out of all people, an EV owner helped me finalize my decision to go catted. I would’ve hated the smell of catless especially with this car being a daily (in good weather) and the take the Mrs. to lunch ride.
