So clutch!!

In our old neighborhood, one neighbor had a 16 car garage 😲

Don't get me started with blown opportunities. The first was in 2001 when my brother in law offered to sell me his house I was leasing in SoCal for $270k in a suburb of Los Angeles County. I passed on it because I just moved to NorCal and funds were tight, he ended up selling it in 2003 for $600k. Today that same house is worth easily $1.4M. Second opportunity was also in late 2001 when a co-worker was leaving the Bay Area and offered me his house in a suburb of San Jose for $540k....I passed for the same reason, he ended up selling it for $570k a week later and today that house is worth nearly $3M. Had I just scrambled and begged and borrowed, I would be retired today

I believe it. I watch storm chasers in TX, LA, OK etc.

Sometimes they drive by a house with massive garages and I get jealous.

That was the early 2000's. He paid $230k for it in 1998. Just like San Jose, if you told someone you paid in the $500k range people would say Huh? The average price of a house here is between $1.2M to $1.8M

Thing is, you think you have enough space until you keep accumulating more 💩

Have you started packing yet for your move south?😁 You be surprised what you can get for $500k down here with 3-4 car garages.

My friend is headed out west next month to Willow springs and Laguna. I’m so jealous. Wanna go so bad!! He bought a new truck to ensure he makes it across the desert. He said if his truck breaks down hopefully it’s on the way back. 🤣

Haha my wife grew up in North Carolina (Cary) and my brother in law had a massive custom built house in Cary. I have relatives in Houston, San Antonio, NJ and they have massive houses, one relatives house is so big that the joke is by the time he mows the lawn in back, it's time to mow the front . But you know, my job is here, I bought my house relatively cheap and it's already doubled in value (from $650k in 2015 to $1.3M today). It is getting expensive to live in Cali, when it's time to retire I'll weigh my options. For sure I won't retire in the Bay Area, it's way to expensive here and getting more expensive. Just went out to dinner on Saturday, and for 8 people the bill came out to $450 And this wasn't even a fancy restaurant.

You can sell your house and retire comfortably in south. As you know Houston and San Antonio are both nice just seems like San Antonio is hotter🥵 Better on outskirts of Houston away from all the traffic. I remember my cousin moved from Bay Area to Texas and his old truck didn’t have AC. I never rode it in for that reason. I remember him saying he would be fine. Next thing I know he had another truck. I said where’s your old truck. He said it’s parked. It’s hot down here!!🤣

Dont roll down or open your windows, too hot and too many mosquitoes 🪰

My wife absolutely doesn't want to live in Texas. My wife is Indian, and one of our friends moved to Houston (also Indian) and they experienced some let's say, not very friendly interactions, came back to the Bay Area. I really like San Antonio, but my first time there, some guy had some really racist/insulting stuff painted on his truck, my co-workers were apologizing to me. Doesn't bother me, I can handle myself and I've dealt with all types of people growing up in LA. My wife though is not so forgiving. I'm half white/Indian btw. Also it's funny, when people I meet in Texas find out I was born in LA, they are like, weren't you scared living there 🤣

It's all good. 99.9 percent of Texans I've met are really nice, super polite people. It's always a few that ruin things, they are usually the loudest. Tried to tell my wife that, but she won't have it. I think it's more all her friends are here in the Bay Area and she doesn't want to leave them

Hey, coulda woulda shoulda. I feel you though. You’ll make money on something else. I’m sure you’d make money if you sold your CA RE now.

Hell in TN it’s skyrocketed. What we pay for our house is nothing, how much we had to borrow was nothing.

Let’s say my house is a solid loaded E -Class. It would be like having a $300 car payment for it.

Never moving lol.

not if you end up having to stay in that area anyway. Any great profit on one home has to be put into the next?

seems like you could easily have one if you wanted one. And mine isn't great the far one with one has a very narrow entrance more geared for a golf cart so I fold my mirrors coming in. First world problem I know!

If you get someone to do the epoxy like I did they'll clean it anyway

these days sadly that's not much. I tipped well but paid $21 for an omelette this morning at a diner.
