General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 1
The racing DP will come with sensors that turn off the cel.
I'm going to just give you my opinion, don't do it. I have a friend who went with a catless performance DP on his Supra, and it's loud. And yes, very raspy. Not my cup of tea. Good news is, you can revert back

No, I have standalone fueling and the stock ECU is set to ignore all emissions codes. It will log them but not throw unless it's a running issue, stock emissions were higher so it will never throw with my 100 cell cats. I like the sound of a built engine, can't fake it and there is nothing like it in terms of how violent and vocal they are! Then again I have a V8 not a raspy 4/6 so I may be biased lol!
D4 TTV8 is on stock ECU and is set to also ignore emissions codes as a reason to throw the light, so is the D4 W12. The 4.0 is very on the edge with 200 cell downpipes of logging or not, 90% of the time it's on the "correct" side of things and won't log, W12 is on stock cats (all 6 of them) for now.

@AMIRZA786 I think I may just bite the bullet and go catted. Plus what sense to go catless on DD (supra) and have catted on track car?

Cars without emissions controls are horrendous. A family member has a 1971 Duster in mint green it's a blast to drive, way too much power for available traction it puts a smile on your face. But damn the exhaust is nasty you can't stand behind the car at all.
percentage changes are deceptive. so would you breathe air with 0.03% cyanide in it?

why not get them replaced?
the only ice car that's "perfectly silent" is one where the engine isn't running.

why not get them replaced?
Mine is perfectly silent. Like it was from day 1
all this talk of cats, exhausts, o2 sensors, start/stop, cylinders, gas types, tunes, downpipes, and on and on makes me want absolutely nothing to do with modding ice cars. the mod scene was never my thing even though i went through one 'phase' with it on the gs400.

Yeah not my thing at all either.
Dropped my car off for service yesterday afternoon, shockingly they are already working on it this morning! Usually it takes days for them to get started. I assumed they would have it all week!

LoL I'm done with all that 🤣
I like to put my personal touch on my vehicles. Also after couple years or less, I tend to get bored with a vehicle so I’ll mod it to give it a newness feeling. Sometimes whenever I need a new set of stock tires, I will instead buy a new set of aftermarket wheels/tires.
I guess depending on the vehicle, a stock car is/can get boring quick to me. If they run a sale on aftermarket parts, I’m more inclined to throw mods at it. None of our vehicles are stock.

I used to do quite a bit of modding, but more like wheels/tires, audio equipment, etc. That said, I've done a few things...
Tundra:
Chrome removal (new hood bulge, grille, bumper caps)
Added a transmission cooler
Added towing mirrors
Tinted the front windows
GS
Tinted the windows
Added Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
