Shouldn’t need an OBD scanner with new cars! But…German…
Maybe it's just being overprotective or cautious about something. 🫸🫷

Went out to take the Tundra up to the gas station this afternoon. Started it up and the engine was super rough. After a few seconds I had a list of warnings and error messages. I knew instantly what it was - rats. I’ve been fighting them off for weeks and finally lost the battle. Took a deeper look and sure enough, found a chewed up wire bundle. Will have it towed to the dealer and declare it to insurance. Crap.

Before taking it in for a diagnosis, the first thing to do (if your vehicle has one) is to simply check the gas-cap. If it is not on tight enough (or the seal is worn), it can trigger the sensor because it allows gas vapors from the tank to get past it. Tighten or replace it if necessary.
If people here don’t know this already they need to turn in their car enthusiast card asap.

Or do the move of installing the factory diag software directly to the car lol! I have the 4.0 setup with VCDS running directly on the media interface so it always has its scan tool with it

Now it makes sense why random cars try to race you. 🤣 Car looks good

Didn’t you have some construction going on close by you? Remember the saw dust on your truck. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where the rodents are coming from. I remember when a new home would would be in its construction phase nearby, a 🐁 would pop up in one of my sticky traps.
I was thinking this same thing. You can’t tell me with all of the sensors and diagnostics and stuff it can’t say “hey your car is running rich”!
Oh it 100% can, that's how the scanners work after all! That's why I sideloaded VCDS, I just have the car CPU run an instance of the scan software instead of a tool/external PC. One less thing I have to carry on trips.....
