General Car Conversation 2024 - part 2
Track day on the new setup. It rips!! Had to turn the power down!! Set my PB time so far catching and running away from a 6th gen ZL1. May have to bump power little more tomorrow. We’ll see. My street tune is 🔥🔥. Man I love my tuner!!
@FrankReynoldsCPA Ran a faster time than this Supra. I want to ask him what all he has done. Then again I don’t want to🫣. He’s quick!! @Striker223 Mer a guy today with a 841 mile RS3 that he plan on putting on the track tomorrow. Will let you know if he does and how it does. Also saw an R8 at cars and coffee today. Sorry I didn’t have time to get pics from the cars and coffee. Saw some cool cars, huracan, GTR, C8. Even saw a group of low rider/slammed B2200s, iykyk

Exactly lol
Another tax scam is states where you pay the full sales tax on the full purchase price of the vehicle when you lease and don't get a prorated refund back when you turn it in. Thats how it is here too. One of the reasons why I trade them in vs turn them in, to recapture that wasted sales tax.

We really don't see that kind of thing here, but when I have been down to the south I have absolutely seen what you are talking about...,
For upgrading, I am starting to casually shop for a clean IS500. I won’t bully anyone. I’ll leave that to the Charger and Challenger set and by the way, I know those cars are faster than a 180 bhp Civic. The springs and wheels don’t make it faster, but I figure my Los Angeles Kings plate frames could be a combined 4 hp increase and the FC Bayern sticker probably adds 2 ho in the event anyone reading this is obtuse, I am kidding about the hp but not about wanting an IS500.
Oddly, I popped into a liquor store a week ago and a guy was getting out of an IS500, so I spoke with him for a bit. He said he will likely sell the car in a year. He’s one of the owners of the store. He told me he takes care of his cars. Right front and right rear wheels had significant curb rash so I will look elsewhere, but I want one of those.
$50/yr for PA registration. It was $36 or so for a long time.
Get a ticket for bald tires, driving aggressively, loose looking parts on the car, etc.

California collects a significant chunk of tax revenue through vehicle registrations and also on fuel taxes. Property taxes here are also high. Mine are not bad because the house is on a historic registry. It wasn’t cheap to make that happen but it has more than paid for itself in the first two installments.
I have to pay over $1500 a year to buy tabs for my three cars. The GS and Tundra are around $600 each per year, and the Highlander a touch over $500 per year. On the upside, Washington State finally did away with inspections. They were required on cars over 5 years old, but they ended it because they said they were finding very few issues during the inspections.
Ours in TN are $70 a car, but an extra $30 for personalized plates. Ever since we changed our plates to blue I swear I see 3-4xs more personalized plates than I did before.
$300 a month ain't bad for 3 car registrations.
