Ah I see. That sucks.

I did see you posted your CEL came on. I'm assuming the wrong oil caused it.

Really wish manufacturers would put things like this on from the factory.

I doubt the CEL and the oil are related

0W-XX is what you want, the first number is cold flow performance so that's ALWAYS better to have as a 0W type. It's the second number that's the actual hot temp KV and that needs to be matched to the load and shear requirements.

His engine on XX-20 is worrying.....

Oh. Well that's not good at all. Did you use heavy power at any point or a lot of boost in the low RPMs?

Every auto parts store will take the used oil. Just put it in the 5qt jugs that the new oil came in, or old washer fluid bottles.

Oil extractors are wonderful. I’ll second Striker’s recommendation of an air-powered one. I’ve been using the big green one from Harbor Freight for over a decade. It’s heavy, but works very well.

No, just very normal driving

Allright, got the scanner. Here's what I have, its throwing code P1B95, which googling gives me:

Code P1B95 DescriptionThe diagnostic trouble code P1B95 indicates an issue with the Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery 59 Circuit High Voltage. In hybrid and electric vehicles, the high-voltage battery is a crucial component that powers the electric motor and other electrical systems in the vehicle. The battery pack consists of multiple modules or cells connected in series to provide the necessary voltage for propulsion.
The code did clear and the CEL went off, its still storing the code. So, like I said before doesn't have anything to do with the oil. It took a snapshot of what was going on when it first registered the fault:

.....and it has to do with that pesky hybrid 48v system. Gotta point that out.

It's what I mean when I say that the whole Classic Mercedes thing which will be around forever, modern cars today will be challenging in 25 years.

LOL, I had CELs in my S560 with no 48v system and in my Lexus cars too. Cars have faults that light up CELs, its not a big deal.

Look at all the Priuses running around with hundreds of thousands of miles, there is nothing inherently unreliable about a hybrid system.

Yeah, I am. I may see if it comes back on over the next couple days and if it doesn't push it off until after the holidays.

Did your traction/stability control turn off with the CEL on?

I remember when hybrids were (relatively) new in the 2000s there was a lot of concern about longevity and reliability. Cost of batteries.

Now old Priuses are like roaches! Lol. They just keep running.

‘I highly doubt with the original batteries
