It was the sedan. I didn't even know there was a sedan and SUV version of the EQE. Either way, Mercedes may have cut costs on the interior, but they know how to engineer a car to ride nice, and even their EV chassis is not compromised in this regard.
Not sure about performance, probably the last thing an Uber driver cares about.
NYC has starting issuing new taxi plates to EVs only a couple years ago, so there are no old Tesla in uber fleet, they are all pretty new. I've been in a bunch of uber Tesla rides, and they all feel cheap, noisy, with econobox ride quality on the level of Prius/Camry. I don't follow Tesla and I have no idea about their updates, I'm just stating my observations. I know my neighbor who's been religiously leasing Teslas has complained that his latest Tesla was cheapened down and even came with awful Kumho tires.
They don't come with Kumho in NA, only some models from the Shanghai factory, which don't make it to the US. So I'm very doubtful of your neighbors claims. Also I haven't ridden in even one Uber with a newer Tesla, and I live in Tesla land, so forgive me if I'm doubting your words
OCH was not trolling. If you can't take negative criticism of your beloved vehicle online not sure what to tell you. I am generally unimpressed with Tesla interiors as well as I dunno millions of others. It shouldn't come as some shock that a member here isn't impressed. Plenty of reviews say the same. He was simply stating his opinion in comparing it to the EQE. This is a General EV conversation thread. He was talking about his recent EV experience. There are tons of posts where people state the RZ isn't a great EV. That's not trolling. That is their opinion which is shared with many.

Not sure how anybody could feel that way about any new model vs last gen Teslas. I guess it is possible, but I'd love to hear the reasonable behind that opinion.
The Tesla Y that was at Sherway shopping mall was pretty nice inside. Personally prefer the lower version seats with the cloth. Fit and finish seemed to be very nice. The models in Canada were from Germany, Canada tends to steer away from true US made Teslas because of the tariffs. Have no idea the price tag, but it did feel like a $65K type of vehicle.

Lighten up.

I personally think he has a right to hate them. It's just when things don't add up I have questions. It's all about math...1+1 has to always equal 2, you know, unless you are a certain leader where it's just a made up number . Other than that, I'm fine with his opinion.

Anyone has that right. He stated a comparison and his opinion. Not liking what you own isn’t hating, it is a persons prerogative and choice. His opinion is not some odd statement; it is shared with countless others. People can also choose to ignore his and anyone’s opinion.

I don’t even think OCH owns a Lexus so not sure why this is posted. If we go that route it won’t end well for Tesla in regards to interior comparisons
In other news I am doing deep research and communicating with my network on bringing an EV to the Carribean. The duty discounts are massive and the island nations are pushing for more energy independence. We import from Japan and many sell Chinese cars. Jetour in doing real well in Jamaica.
Hybrids also have duty discounts so a LX 700h is more advantageous than a 600. Thing is obviously any repairs are vastly more complicated on a hybrid.
Going to drive a few EVs here and show them to my rents as a viable option. Particularly on Dominica then island is small, driving isn’t a daily occurance or for long distances so it works. The negatives are very tiny charging infrastructure and the mountains kill range.

.
that is interesting there are duty discounts. How does a duty discount differ than a manufacturer rebate?
as per the repair. LX700 is the first Toyota hybrid that if the battery fails or an electric motor fails, the vehicle doesn’t have to be repaired, goes into a default gas mode and keeps going. Saw it on a YT show. There is also a third battery which is a first, the small tiny battery is for the steering or something along those lines.

Chinese brands? Or Chinese made Toyota or GM brands?
Not hating on Tesla at all, I just view them as economy cars when it comes to build quality, interior, ride, paint, finish, etc - on par with Camry. This is not hating, this is reality, and at the price point it's what you get. Most uber rides you either get a base Camry/Rav4, or a base model Tesla, so it was nice to catch a ride in a Mercedes, which an actual luxury car, with much higher price point.
Saw a light blue Tesla on the road yesterday, not sure if it was factory or a wrap, but it actually looked premium. So far Tesla's paints have been low quality, and they have very ugly wheels, with or without hubcaps. They really should improve these two things to make their cars appear premium.

AI Overview
Kumho tires are increasingly common on Teslas as both OEM factory equipment and cost-effective aftermarket replacements. While praised for their low price point and quiet ride, they generally offer softer sidewalls and faster treadwear compared to premium alternatives.
Popular Kumho models for Teslas include:
Kumho Majesty 9 Solus TA91 / TA91 EV: Frequently equipped as standard factory tires on Fremont-built Tesla Model Ys. They are highly regarded for their low cabin noise and comfort, but some drivers experience quicker tread wear and lower puncture resistance than all-weather options like Michelin CrossClimate 2.
Kumho Ecsta Sport / Sport S: EV-compatible performance tires favored by drivers who want an aggressive aesthetic and excellent wet grip without paying premium Michelin or Pirelli prices. They provide an affordable daily ride but feature softer sidewalls that can feel mushy when taking aggressive corners.
Crugen EV HP71: An all-season touring option specifically designed for the added weight and low-noise requirements of electric SUVs

In most Carribean nations you are taxed a duty to bring in a vehicle. Sometimes 50-100%. The bigger the engine usually the larger the tax. So it’s cheaper to buy from a dealer on the island. Dominica has one that imports Ford and Kia and Hyundai for example.
Well aware how the 700h works. . Hoping for an interior update soon. It’s as indestructible as it comes and seats 7. Perfect for Dominica tbh. It’s also not so big where it’s ridiculous to drive. The roads are narrow and a wide vehicle isn’t great to me. One of the advantages of a 7 seat Prado/GX 460 or 470. They are relatively narrow.

It was probably Frost Blue. I think it looks great. If I was getting a Tesla this is definitely the color I'd get.
