General EV Conversation
But you live in Canukistan and they are importing those Chinese shitboxes. If you love them so much and they are so "far ahead", go buy one for yourself while you wallow in your anti-American hate. Nobody cares.
GM and Ford would be able to make these EVs if China tariffs were removed and they could import them.
Good for Tesla, that is great. But they slowing down and have lost their two made in America products that once defined the industry.
US government taking away subsidies

tl;dr - they're not saying you can't have fun ice cars. they are saying ev's are better transportation. qed.
It's many of these so-called "enthusiast" reviewers, who are primarily interested in low 0-60 times and high-G cornering, nthat have given us today's low-profile tires, giant wheels, stiff suspensions, expensive wheel/tire-replacements, turbo-engines, stiff unyielding seats, and a number of vehicles that ride like Go-karts. The industry, to a large extent, has listened to them, because they have so much influence on You-Tube and in the auto-magazines, rather than to the average Ma-and-Pa drivers, who are looking mostly for comfort, reliability, and utility.

......problem is....even THEY are not as comfort-oriented as they once were. I can remember, in the 90s, driving a Camry (or an Avalon) was, IMO, a true pleasure. Today's Camrys, IMHO, are more like sport-sedans.

There is truth to this giant wheels and super low profile tires have become the norm for reasons that escape me, styling I guess?
RWD, magnesium space frame, etc etc really does not matter. Having Carplay and comfy seats does.
The folks that keep the lights on for most legacy makers are vehicles that blend in to the background. Life is already daunting, make sure the tool that gets the owner and their family from place a to place b just works at a moments notice.

Why did Ferrari think people who want an EV and a Ferrari want a jelly bean?

American companies can absolutely build these types of cars that are superior to gas made cars in the US that nobody wants outside of NA. Just look what Buick offers in China vs their inferior gas stuff in the US. The irony is that 3/4 of those Buick products originate from Asia as it is.
Is it a huge mistake for China too? Looks like they are figuring out the government can't drown companies in money forever too. Not to mention, we heard the same line of crap about hybrids, and they are mainstream now. If anything, the government need to get out of the way. They have done more than enough. State governments are more than welcome to issue more incentives if they wish. If it is really a great idea, all the states will pick it up and implement the same.
