I don't go any faster than that because than it becomes unsafe, and I don't want to get a speeding ticket

This is me in the LX towing a 3100lbs car plus misc track gear on the highway back home.

Last year when I only had the Polestar I had to make a 35 minute stop due it having a slower charging rate, and less chargers along the route, It really isn't that bad. This is not the case with the Tesla. For me it's worth the sacrifice when weighing the benefits I get from EV ownership. But if this not something acceptable to you, I understand

LOL. In my Prius.

My wife coworker has an EQS (whichever the car is) and he loves it. It looks pretty good imo.

This is why I say I would only drive an EV in town. I drove 467 miles in 7hrs 47min (7hr 52min if you count how long I forgot and left the car running while unloading the car). This was in the rain for first half of the trip as I had to drive a little slower.

When I used to tow my bike and couple friends bikes to the track, I would give them 2 options: do you want to save gas getting there going 60-65mph or do you want to go ahead and get to the track and back home and say forget about the gas. They always chose F the gas, let’s go.

The reason it takes 7 hours for me is SoCal traffic. Usually the last 2 hours of this is spent in stop and go traffic. If I drove my Sienna, I would literally only save 30 to 35 minutes. But the 30 minutes I lose, I end up saving in using cheaper electricity over expensive gas

I actually do charge more than recommended by the mapping software. If it says 10 minutes, I do 15 minutes, although I really don't have to
Is this true for all EVs or just Tesla?

Tesla has a very conservative charging curve. Max, Tesla hits 250 kW, but drops quickly. Our Ioniq 5 on the other hand charges at full 350 kW and has a much better charging curve than Tesla. It can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes. My daughters Bolt EUV is the slowest, maxing out at 55 kW

Out of all of your EVs which has the longest range on the highway?

Like you’ve mentioned you drive to so cal quite a bite, the 467 mile roundtrip road trip is what I would say my benchmark is. I want a vehicle that can make that trip without stopping to charge/fuel.

The Ioniq 5 has an EPA range of 303 miles and the Model Y 330 miles, but actual is 260 miles. My wife drives the Ioniq 5 mainly for her work commute, I don't know what the actual range is, but probably similar to the Y.

The longest range EV is 400 miles, I believe from the EQS, there are no EV's right now that will get you the 467 miles without at least one charging stop, so if that's your requirement, then an EV is not for you at this time

Hey man, my cousin has a 200 gallon diesel fuel tank in his yard where he fuels all his trucks. Of course he lives in the California Central Valley. Has a 3-acre ranch. And owns a construction company

EDIT

My cousins ranch. This was taken back in 2003

I'm okay stopping once since I only travel in my car a couple times a year.
