how far was the trip? how does payment work? what surprised you about it? i wonder how and how often they go about cleaning the cars.
do you see lots of waymo cars in SF?
i assume they work in their geofenced areas because google has meticulously mapped them. but what happens when they’re new construction, or detours, or road closures for an event, etc.? so many things have to be taken into consideration (that humans do automatically, badly or otherwise).

What happens? Waymo drives into a giant puddle or drives in circles or drives on the wrong side of the road or other shenanigans. Their system works great until it doesn't then the car goes into a stupor.
I was coming off a 14 hour day, no time for details 
Drove very naturally, albeit on the cautious side. Had a ~20 minute ride through the city just a bit after sunset so there was still some ambient light. There was one instance where another Waymo was parked in the lane waiting for a pickup and ours went around it again very naturally. I was chatting with a coworker and we basically forgot there was no driver from the halfway point until it was time to leave.
Tons of Waymo’s all around. Just walking to our building yesterday we walked by 7-8 of them. I may take another one today to get to the building we need to get to. It’s raining a bit so that’ll be a fun test
