I wonder if the leader in electric vehicles is well positioned to benefit financially from a growing EV market. And maybe their stock being a good investment. Asking for a friend.

They're starting to pop up in NJ! There are a few in my city which is more rural than suburban. I also saw a pair parked at Newark airport and 4 at a show in north NJ. I've got high hopes for sales this year and for the R2 reveal next month. They just need to open service centers faster so they can actually deliver what they're making

NOT stop. I never said it would stop.

WADR, you (and others) just can't seem to get it in your heads that not everywhere is California.

There are a total of 8 superchargers in Knox County, about 800k population. I'm not saying it won't grow, but yeah. Everyone plugs in at home here which is ideal.

What's so convenient for you isn't to people in other states.

I'm not slamming EVs I'm just saying how it is.

Absolutely true. And not to toot my horn or anything, but doesn't California have the largest automobile market in the US? It's almost (I stress almost) larger than Florida and Texas combined. If you look at every other state in the Union, the numbers are almost insignificant, the fourth largest is Illinois at a measly 4.1 million cars. Now we suck at a lot of things, I admit that. But buying LOTS of cars is not one of the things we suck at. All those regulation you hate, for better or worse, were pushed by California

I'm going to defend you here, some are going after you too aggressively. You believe what you believe no need to beat you over the head for it.

I completely disagree that EVs are going to peak at 30%, they are going to take over completely. The cost of batteries continues to drop, energy density goes up, charging times go down. Now consider in 5 years, or even 10. By then it will make zero sense financially to make ICE cars, and to own them outside of sentimental reasons.

Just think about it, don't outright dismiss EVs replacing ICE. The disruption curve is deceptive it for long periods can appear it is not happening then change accelerates. See Blockbuster, Kodak and so many other examples.

i didn't see steve's comment, only your reply "i don't live in kentucky" by which i thought you were dissing kentucky in a funny way (i lol'ed), so i made a JOKE that it's the same thing as tennessee. note: joke, not personal attack. sorry if it bothered you.

WADR you guys don’t see the big picture.
maybe instead of relentless negative comments, you can enlighten us.

Government this government that, we do have the ability to vote against all that crap, regulations and crap and it’s looking like it’s all going to go in my favor pretty soon.
we should avoid politics and i'm no 'big govt fan' but if by this you mean a change in administration is suddenly going to make ev sales go down because there will be less incentives, or because maybe there will be more fossil fuel supply and lower gas prices, i don't think either of those things will come true (if there's a change in administration), at least not directly. gasoline/oil being a global commodity and the u.s. having very constrained refining capacity (and regulations) means prices are 'complicated'.

on this you're exactly right. my area as well, in north central florida, has very scant public charger availability. they've built a lot on the east coast (i95) but regardless, it's clearly going to take years and years to build out a national, then global, electric vehicle charging network.
those that can charge at home (including me) are fortunate for sure. i take very few long car 'trips' so an ev is perfect for me for work.

i may take a 100+ mi. (ea. way) trip this weekend where i will HAVE to charge to make it back, just to get it out of my system.

Nobody wants anyone to not have their EVs, let me get that straight. At least as far as I'm concerned. Go buy 35 Teslas, more power to you... thanks for helping the economy.

Okay, I'm glad you said something because I am nowhere even in the same universe as that and never have been. It's not my business what private citizens buy. Like I said the more money people spend the better it is for the economy.

I am glad those that have their EVs enjoy them, I really am. I want anyone who likes EV to go out there and have fun choosing their dream car and enjoy it.

Still can't get that CT outta my head today. Seriously impressive, like I said just take it for what it is and don't take it so seriously and just have fun. The last thing I was doing checking it out was comparing it to a Silverado.

Hopefully you saw my post explaining the misunderstanding. There was no insult intended.

no wonder Bit isn't a mod anymore.
Why thank you for that (of course not an insult lol).
FYI, I requested to no longer be a mod.

California has the largest population so of course it's the largest car market.

Without cheating guess which state has the lowest population.

Texas has about 10 million less than Cali's 39 million but way way less EV sales per capita. Oh and Canada now has more people than California take that.
