I love Rolls Royce. I know this is controversial, but I'm gonna say it anyway.. I see so much Rolls in the new 7 series... I think BMW knew exactly what they were doing. Just watching the first few minutes of the video, without the iconic RR grille, it looks so similar to the 7. I view that as a good thing for BMW.
Yep. I don't calculate my energy cost to charge the Tesla at home. It's like an invisible cost to me at this point. What's NOT invisible is filling up the thirsty QX80 - I think it has a 24 gallon tank and I tend to put premium in it. Last time I filled it up from almost empty it was like $110. We don't drive the QX that much, but I'd guess we still spend about $200 to $250/month in gas.
i had to fill the LC500 with gas yesterday. i was down to about 40mi. range left.
i'm sure cali is 20-40% more, but let's say it's $90 for a full tank of gas (if i'd refilled from empty).
range indicator said 391 mi. range after refilling.
so $90 / 391 is 23 cents / mile.
my EV has 77.4kwh 'tank' (battery). range on that is about 250 mi.
charging is about 12c / kwh so 77.4 x .12 or $9.29 for a full fill up.
so $9.29 / 250 is 3.7 cents / mile.
so my gas car is SIX TIMES as expensive to fuel. and the LC is not even a gas guzzler really (over 20mpg on avg).
and that's without me having solar power.
i've said it before, if gas goes high enough, the case for EVs only gets more and more compelling. now if tesla would just do some ADVERTISING of info like this so more mainstream people would get it, that would help.

My son and I were talking about that when we saw a G11 at Costco the other day. We agreed that it was ironic that its grille looked way too big and out of place, while the significantly larger grille on the G70 looks fine.
I felt the pain earlier this week when filling up my X7 from near empty, it cost me $87. Normally I would agree that the Tesla is an invisible cost but I get a weekly email that from my electricity provider on how much it cost to charge my car which is typically $25-$30 per week. I could just delete the email but I'm too curious to do that.

Well, let me help youz guyz out... In March 2018 we did the solar project which was the solar and a new roof. I got a 30% tax credit, which sorta kinda made the roof free, if you want to look at it that way...
In Dec 2018 we got the Model 3. I'm sure I am past the project break even point. NEM2 baby! I now pay about $10 - $15 per month, all in, to run the house and car. Now, once in a while I Supercharge for 10 to 15 minutes...
I can easily pay $100 to fill the Tundra alone. I put CA wannabe Premium 91 in the GS and TSX. Can easily be $40 to $50 for about 1/2 tank. And I blast the house AC like never before if I feel like it.
My current bill is -$64.33 for gas and electricity.

I have a friend who has a solar business, he's suggesting I separate out my EV charging and get a seperate meter and put solar panels on my garage. I'm probably going to be looking into that later this year

Woof, gas in NJ is sitting around $3.50 in my neck of the woods. The winter was bad for generation for me too, but I'm about to turn the corner and get into my $3 connection fee electricity bills in the next month or so. I also get about $3,000 back in SREC (solar credit) sales a year too. If I include that I don't pay anything for electricity regardless of low winter generation
