i now have a ‘26 Y… learning all the things. last gas car is sold/gone (lc500), but can’t talk about that here because ‘gas’ lol.
funny story… took delivery of the Y (flawless as far as i could tell), drove it about 3 miles to the light where i would get on the interstate to see how it drove and then hit the right wheel button to turn on fsd and the car drove onto the interstate and the 30 mile trip with all kinds of country roads/turns/intersections right into my driveway. uh-mazing.
one of the first things i did was put in mats, lol.

Nice!! Congrats on the Y. It's hard to beat the value of that car and it is really a substantial upgrade from the previous gen like I own. Glad you got it with the FSD, sounds like you'll use it quite a bit. I hope you enjoy the car, be sure to report back after a few days with your findings!
my car is as basic as it gets… the ‘free’ dark gray color, rear wheel drive, with the 19’s. i did that because i like the gray, i wanted the extra range, and better ride quality. the car is plenty quick enough for me. i think i saw on the docs that it’s $46,600 but i leased it because easy $7500 credit off lease ending this month, and i’m sure i’ll want something else in 3 years with how fast things are changing.
delivery at showroom was very pleasant. guy never even asked for ID i had my giant downloaded delivery ‘check list’ but after a while i gave up as the car was obviously flawless from everything i could see.
lots to learn and setup
audio system is freaking amazing.
hot florida sun overpowers the supposedly improved glass roof but i already had a vion sun shade waiting at the house to install (now done). we’ll see if that helps.
car is VERY quiet and comfortable to drive (or sit there as it drives, lol).
had a major headache with the youtube music app which simply doesn’t work if your playlists/likes/etc are in a ‘channel’ in your google account and not the account itself… this had never been an issue until now, so had to figure out how to move everything to the main google account. in the process i lost my playlists, but not the end of the world.
installed a spigen matte screen protector (really nice) and a spigen center console organizer (slides back and forth in uber deep front compartment giving it two ‘levels’) - very nice.
still can’t believe the car doesn’t come with homelink but it does have the MyQ ability but of course my opener isn’t compatible but have ordered the cheap ($29) myq device that should let the tesla open/close my garage. if it doesn’t work well i’ll get the ‘add-on’ tesla homelink (store guy said they’ll come to me to install) which is overpriced at $350.
i have fsd free for 3 months thanks to amirza786’s referral code! if i want it after that (most likely!) i’ll pay the $99/mo.
congrats! So is that like RWD lfp standard range, or RWD long range with nmc battery?
Not too aware of US market options atm.
thanks!
rwd long range. we only have long range here… perhaps because of the country size, ha. i don’t know what nmc is but i believe it’s not lfp and it’s the same battery as the dual motor.
also in europe i believe the rwd has some cost cutting like slightly down-spec audio system, but in the u.s., they use the same everything in the rwd and awd models. since i like sound i made sure of that, ha.
Congratulations Paul! Great to hear about your very positive experience (fit and finish, ride quality, silence, comfort, sound system, range and of course FSD) so far!

Congrats on the new Y!
As far as MyQ, we paid for it the first 2 years. For about a year and a half it seemed to work great. Then at some point we'd find the garage door open when we got home. I started watching it via the phone app and would notice that it would reopen about 1 out of 10 times. I'm guessing it had something to do with the car switching from wifi to cell network as we drove away, getting confused and sending the command again. We decided to not renew and now just velcro the small remote to the back of the screen. That seems to work fine, just annoying since we haven't had to use physical remotes for over 10 years. You do get a 30 day free trial, so you'll have time to try it out first.
