Model Y Refresh
another huge win for teslas is that they can connect to your home wifi if you want which usually gives them a much faster connection. my ioniq can't do that.
i'm still debating if i miss the lack of carplay in the tesla but i'm impressed it does have apple podcasts app, youtube music app, both of which i use a lot on all devices.
oh and the audio system really is amazing.
another little 'tesla-ism' is that when i open the door, whatever music was playing before starts playing at low volume... very nice touch.

i see a couple of releases ago they put out "rave cave" so lights/music begin when you put it in park, lol
in other news... i'm still irked they don't include homelink in the car. the delivery guy said just get a myq account, etc., which the car supports, however, my garage door opener ("marantec") does not support myq, so the myq controller i just bought it worthless (will try to return it).
on a brighter note, i decided to go for the $350 homelink tesla install and ordered that on the phone app, and it couldn't have been easier to blow money, lol. more importantly, they will come install it at wherever i want (mobile service) and gave me some dates/times to choose from. i know you tesla owners know all this, but it sure beats going to a traditional dealer. the consierge service i had with genesis was also amazing (they pickup and drop off the car and leave you with a loaner, but this is even better and the simple app approach is way better.
even better, it isn't "just" homelink, the car can apparently know (via gps) when to DO the opening, so it should be a case of just driving up or away and things open or close.

and of course if you're in fsd (and maybe enhanced autopilot?) if you tap the stalk or use the button on cars without stalks the car changes lanes by itself!
now in my ioniq i find it annoying that tapping the stalk just flashes 3 times and that's it. it CAN change lanes on major highways (interstates) in its "HDA" (highway driving assist) mode, but it's very cautious and very slow.
