I hope this thing feels more substantial than the GH. The sound of the door closing is very discouraging on the GH. It literally goes splat. At least the engine idle was pleasantly nicer than the 2L turbo on the last NX.
Was in my Lexus dealer's service writer's area for routine service last week. Turned around and saw the backside of a large Lexus SUV that at first blush looked like an LX 600, except maybe longer? (edit: It is 3" longer and virtually the same width!) They pulled it into the bowels of the actual service area before I could get a really good look at it. I asked the gentleman next to me if it was his, yes and it was a TX. Turns out that his wife wanted one as a family mover, and there were none in the NE Ohio region. Said that they bought it from a dealer on the east coast at sticker price. (Said he did find some a bit closer to home, but they had huge "market adjustments" added to the sticker.) Asked what he made of the 4cyl turbo/hybrid, said it was fine, but admitted that he wasn't a car guy when I pressed him on the NVH and performance aspects of the car. He said that it was a great family hauler and his wife liked it. You know the saying..."happy wife/happy life"! It appeared to be a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be.
good info Hrocks, and it pretty much nails it for its intended market. premium enough to be 'respectable' (we're doing well money ) but not flashy (we don't like to show off).
