ha. have you been in a CURRENT gx lately? it's REALLY basic and not luxurious.
been in a 3rd gen GS? was NOT luxurious.
the first gen LS460 was not very luxurious in the plasticky center stack.
lexus seeks to find 'openings' in the market, and not compete head to head with the obvious. this is very smart.
As long as they price it at least $10k cheaper than a comparable 6 cylinder X7/GLS it will do well.
i have no doubt it will be a LOT cheaper than X7/GLS.

I completely disagree about the 3GS and original 4LS not being luxurious, they had some questionable materials but were still very luxurious looking and feeling.
We get it, you like it but that doesn’t mean people who don’t like it aren’t welcome to our opinions

I owned a 2nd gen GX Luxury for 6 years and I actually didn't mind it and it was still somewhat luxurious to me outside of some of the cheaper silvery plastic. It still seemed to differentiate itself from other Toyotas at the time, it had power third row seats, semi analine leather, etc.
I also don't mind the new GX since it's purpose is now different than the previous GX which was more of an all a rounder where the new one is more focused. I am interested in the new one since they do have a third row (which I wasn't sure of a few days ago) and I bet the interior of a premium version won't be too bad.
The second gen GX feels outdated and basic now, but it always had decent materials, nice leather and wood trim, and still felt pretty luxurious. Rode well and refined and quiet.
My issue with the TX interior is it just looks really austere and blah. Needs something to jazz it up some.
I think they were going for a retro look with the front and the badge, the press release mentions classic Lexus styling. The hood, grille slat badge kind of reminds me of the 2ES, but I’m just not sure why they would take that sleek sedan language and put it on top of a big tall SUV front, very odd.
EDIT- now that you post that Corolla, you’re so right about that resemblance…

Thats just Toyota PR. Here is the entire lineup.
looks strange Also self evident that this Lexus is just a USA rebadge more than it is a Lexus.
I agree, it really sticks out in the lineup and not in a good way.
Best looking crossover they make right now I think is the NX, I really like the new NX outside but the RX I don’t like in the front with the weird unibrow and this I don’t like in the front either.

Interior is really weak too. The details are not there. Under hood cladding is missing

Agreed on all counts. My best long distance family hauler.
You guys should expect further developments of this Corolla-esque headlight-grille-badge design language in Lexus's lineup.
The TX and LBX are just the start.. clearly (and unfortunately) Lexus's design language is moving in that direction as technically first previewed in their EV teaser and further cemented with the Toyota(Lexus) GT3 Concept. The new GX is just an "odd-one out" but I expect more future Lexus models to adopt this design language, starting with the next ES and facelifts of existing models.

Agreed. It kept what I would call a nice interior longer than most other Lexus products, which got the bean-counting ax years ago. I wouldn't call it outdated......just nice.
2 wealthy guys complaining the tx isn't luxurious enough. hilarious. the tx is clearly not aimed at either of you. as said, it will sell a ton.
you're disappointed because you want the tx to be a mercedes gls for less money. not happening.
compared to a new bmw xm, it's a thing of beauty.
Man I just want an interior like the LC500/LS500 with a nice TTV8 in an SUV like the LX600.....is that too much to ask lol!?! I mean hell I would gladly take a diesel GX/LX and drive it as my SUV for the next 10 years if they made one since that would truly be my perfect SUV
