You guys should expect further developments of this Corolla-esque headlight-grille-badge design language in Lexus's lineup.
The TX and LBX are just the start.. clearly (and unfortunately) Lexus's design language is moving in that direction as technically first previewed in their EV teaser and further cemented with the Toyota(Lexus) GT3 Concept. The new GX is just an "odd-one out" but I expect more future Lexus models to adopt this design language, starting with the next ES and facelifts of existing models.
Nothing wrong with that... but what does make it look worse/cheaper is when the hood is broken up into 2 pieces unlike the GT3 concept and LBX

It reminds me of some Toyota models. The Corolla is the first thing that came to mind. I don't think that's the best association for Lexus to make, visually. But what do I know? I only drive something that people will hate on and say it is an overpriced Corolla, anyway. :P
I think the interior has fallen victim to YouTubers who, in my opinion, have a poor sense of style advocating against wood steering wheels, shiny piano black accents, glimmering silver colored trim highlights and complimenting and contrasting interior colors and materials ( referring to the all black interior I saw in videos). Instead this TX interior looks extremely dull, drabby and monotonous.
Man I just want an interior like the LC500/LS500 with a nice TTV8 in an SUV like the LX600.....is that too much to ask lol!?! I mean hell I would gladly take a diesel GX/LX and drive it as my SUV for the next 10 years if they made one since that would truly be my perfect SUV
Too much to ask lol

as i said in the other thread... blame tesla (and the billion related videos) for plain and cheap being the 'new' luxury.

I agree. The perfect combination for me would be the interior of my ls600hL but with the Tesla tech and screen. I think my LS interior is so plush and luxurious. Would love to see more of that in future Lexus products.

yes that would be wonderful. and congrats on driving an LS600hL! incredible car.
When is the last time you have been in one? I was at the Acura dealer last week and the high spec' MDXs are plenty luxurious with nice materials, open pore wood trim, nice metal details and excellent build quality. They're just way smaller inside than this.
QX60 is really surprisingly nice inside with excellent materials and feels much more expensive than it is, it truly blew me away for the money...but...much smaller inside.
What I want is a vehicle that feels nice inside, looks nice outside and has the space inside that we need and it seems that I either have to stay mainstream with a Palisade or Telluride, or spend $90,000 on a GLS or X7. Its kind of a strange gap to have to make.
I think you forgot the Volvo XC90 which is priced right in that gap and is a roomy car. Even with its it's now 7yo exterior design, it still looks modern. The interior is much more luxurious than what I am seeing so far with TX pictures.
Separately, I don't understand why Lexus would restrict the hybrid and more powerful TX powertrains to just 6 seats. Looks like you can get 7 passenger seating only with the base engine. https://www.lexus.com/content/dam/le...XUS_TX_POG.pdf
I don't think this is a powertrain configuration issue because the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max (same powertrain as the 500h as far as I can tell), seats 7.
Hmm. As expected the interior does not scream luxury in the slightest.
Even this looks like its straight out of the Grand Highlander:
What is Lexus' obsession with two-tone interiors? This doesn't look very good. It's even worse than the 7th Gen ES and other interiors, where they'd have tan leather and random small black inserts on the seats. Just pick white/macadamia or black... No one wants this panda or tan/black combo on the seating surfaces.

Not me, I actually love the two tone leather. I don't plan on getting a TX, but if I were to get one, I'd absolutely go for that two tone option.

Faux luxury quick fix. Since wood inserts are not an option due to budget constrains.
