Mmm… You hear that? That’s 5-liters of V8 Lexus bumbling away under the hood of the RC F. It sounds pissed. It probably is pissed. If you were a race car being forced rev on a glass dais instead of, say, Monza, wouldn’t you be a little miffed?

Everyone wants a chance for some seat time in the RC F. Right now though, that privilege is reserved for the Super GT drivers only. To their credit, they don’t seem to be wasting time getting accustomed to it. They certainly had their handful last weekend at the Fuji Speedway.

To be perfectly honest, the color is still growing on me. When Lexus introduced the RC’s “exclusive orange” I had to consider just how I felt about it. maybe, it’s because the RC F’s signature blue is just so amazing, it won’t allow me to accept the RC F any other way.

I give the tuning community five minute before you see these perched on the dashboards of IS F Sport owners around southern California. It’s just bound to happen.

The RC F GT500 is a 500 horsepower race car with a half the cylinder count of the production model and less than half of the displacement.
