Need advice in securing a 2026 LC500 Convertible Inspiration Series
Hello all,
I’m looking to get a 2026 Lexus LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Series, but only the convertible version, not the coupe. Would love any tips from folks who have experience with limited-production Lexus models. I’ve got two main questions:
what's the best way to secure one?
Should I call dealers directly, leave deposits with multiple dealerships, use a broker, or just check dealer inventories every day?
Also, how far along is the production?
I know the 2026 LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Series is limited, but I’m trying to figure out how many cars might already be built or allocated. This will help me decide if waiting for future production makes sense or if I should go ahead and do the bespoke before the manufacturing ends? What is the expected date that Lexus will stop accepting orders for 2026?
Lastly, how does Lexus handle car allocations?
I’m open to buying in the U.S. or Canada and handling the export myself. Any advice, dealer suggestions, or real-world experiences would be really helpful.
Thanks!

Some larger dealers have the best chance of securing allocations but you would need to see how many folks are already in front of you.
I am #1 with my local and paid a deposit in early September, signed a buy order in December, and no idea if it will ever come to fruition.
Not holding my breath and hope your luck is better.

This. Production is ending entirely in 3-4 months, maybe sooner if Lexus burns through supply chain. And it seems like they front-loaded the inspiration series ones for MY 2026 toward the front of the MY, meaning most remaining builds will be standard with a smattering of bespokes and MAYBE a few inspirations but how many is anyone's guess.
I say front-loaded because while I was looking there were a glut of inspirations listed as opposed to bespoke or regular builds. It's admittedly a WAG on my part.
Your best bet is to stalk the car sites like autotrader, etc and call on ANY you see pop up. Most will be spoken for. The ones that arent, especially inspiration series ones, will have a markup over MSRP, so if your goal is to keep it decide if it's worth it to you. If your goal is to flip for a profit, you'd be wise not to chase a market like the LCs if recent BAT auctions are any indication, not to mention leaving the car for someone who will enjoy and keep it.

Good point, that's probably where this is going. I'm still hoping I'll get lucky and find one, but I'm starting to accept that it might be smarter to focus on low-mileage used ones instead, but I don't know if I can find used offers or a place to post my order publicly.

Thank you, that is very helpful and honestly aligns with what I am starting to suspect but have not yet fully accepted. I am not looking to resell the car for a profit; if I manage to acquire one, especially an Inspiration Series, my intention would be to retain and use it for the long term. I am located outside the US, so part of the challenge is determining whether it still makes sense to pursue a new allocation or to focus my attention on low-mileage used cars that are already available in the market (If any).

That is very helpful, thank you. If your #76 was manufactured in November 2025, it appears that Lexus might have prioritized the early production of the Inspiration model. I am curious, when did you place your order and subsequently take delivery?

Production # of inspiration series is not necessarily numeric order. I got mine in very early of January and it is #133. When I picked up mine, my dealer told me all the allocation has been done for US. So I guess there would be no more new allocation slot left over. You can still look for any inventories, but would be very difficult or more than MSRP, if you can find one. I hope the best luck for your searching.

What I noticed during my search is that many dealers list the LC500 without mentioning that it is the Inspiration trim, and some do not list it at all. I decided to post a paid help request here, so if someone can help me secure one, I will pay a good amount for their assistance.
If you're outside the US/Canada, you could also look at buying the equivalent model from the Japanese market - IIRC, their convertible was pretty much identical to the N.American Inspiration Series cars, in 2026 (maybe different wheels?) - assuming you don't mind RHD, of course...
