Top view deicting seperation of rubber grommet from bracket sub-assembly. Only the front nut was loosened (while lightly applying grip with a pliers on the ferrule on other side of bracket to prevent cable from turning) to avoid changing the cable adjustment...however it seemed slightly taughter once the new assembly was installed. Be sure to hold the ferrule in place while retightening to avoid ripping the grommet from the new bracket.

Carefully extract by gripping rubber with small needle nose pliers. The tails separated from all front door bumpers...but not the rears.

The handles sound a little quieter when closing.

Coat new parts with Shit Etsu grease.

Mercedes-Benz torque dampers resemble miniature shock absorbers....The O.EM..Lexus mounts are well designed for isolation but have their design limitations when it comes to dampening (think of a car with springs and no , or worn shock absorbers) sudden engine movement. Mercedes makes generous use of damping cushions for isolation between engine and body.

Found this image online.....The strut mount bracket is a possibilty but the solid heim joints on thr damper are not the best solution for improving engine damping while maintaining engine - body isolation. Moreover, this unit is apparently mounted wirhout a counterpart which excludes it in my mind. Also, would prefer a configuration that maintains engine top cover..

To better access this ground screw, slightly bend downward the steering column harness support bracket. I left the original ground wire in place and simply added another at this location

This is where the 3/8" lug was affixed to the body...wire barrel side up serves as a stop to prevent spinning of the terminal whien torquing nut... Horn works better than ever.

Side view of plastic bearing/floor mount depicting accelerator rod pivot. Not a lot of sidewall for a bearing insert... Possible solution is to offset ithe hole inward, but will require a machine shop.
