Thumbs down Google maps problem with track pad and android auto

Hello,

I got a 2022 UX250H. For 7 months google maps when connected with android auto was working perfectly. The last week or two I am having an issue. When I use google maps with the track pad, sometimes the cursor disappears and I can't select anything on the google maps screen. I have to click the back button on the track pad then it re-appears. It's annoying and for some functions like checking the route and seeing different route options, I have no control anymore and I can't do anything. Anyone know what the issue is? Everything else on android auto is working fine, spotify, phone, and the Lexus controls and software are fine. I don't think it's a track pad issue, has to be some kind of bug with the software?

Same problem here. I'm guessing it's due to a recent Android Auto update and will fix itself on a future update.

I would submit feedback in android auto, maybe they will work faster. It's easy to do. Just did it and also did it on google maps from my device.

This is what I wrote you can copy paste.

I have a 2022 Lexus UX250H and I am having an issue with google maps when connected to the car with android auto. The Lexus uses a track pad system to maneuver around the interface, and when I have google maps open the cursor disappears and I can't see it. I have to click back on the lexus button and then it re - appears but each time I try and do another function like looking at the route or looking at alternate routes the curson disappears. I don't have any issues in other android auto apps like phone or spotify etc, onyl google maps. Also it was working since I got the car new in March 2022 and just the last 1 - 2 weeks it has stopped. My guess is an update to android auto or google maps is causing this bug. I have made a post on lexus groups online and other people are experiencing the same exact issue in a similar recent time frame.

I actually just made a post about this in the RX forums. I have this issue with apple CarPlay on my '22 RX 350. It happens in other CarPlay apps too (such as Spotify), not just google maps.

I solved the issue by rolling back to a previous working version of Android Auto.

Right now I have the version 8.5.6245 installed which is working flawlessly

This also started happening with my apple CarPlay not long ago, sometimes it'll show up, sometimes it won't. More or less when responding to a text message that pops up there.

Mine was the opposite, mine is the most recent iOS when this started happened, granted doesn't happen too often though, maybe 30% of the time.

Crap you're right, I'm on 16.1.1 - I'll give that update a shot, thanks!

Free bump - it still happens with the latest update, sucks but it still only happens intermittently. I wonder if maybe I just need to use the OE cord, since I haven't. Though never used to happen, but we all know that those 3rd party cords tend to frizz out with these iPhones.
