The car is less than 1 year old. Over the weekend, the battery completely drained for no reason. No lights were left on; no doors were left opened. Since the jumpstart, there is now an exclamation point that appears on the multimedia system when the car is in reverse. Has this happened with anyone? What do you think is the fix? Should I ask for the battery to be replaced? Thanks for your input!
There maybe a warning info that say to always check your surrounds or something along that line. It may have an exclamation point at the beginning of the sentence.
Ok, the Exclamation point is letting you know there's an error. In this case you've lost your dynamic gridlines in reverse. It needs to be recalibrated because of the battery drain. It should be easy to fix. Put the car in reverse, then turn the wheel all the way one way, then all the way the other way. This should reset it.
My battery drained once and I needed a boost. After that, I lost the guide lines on the camera and I believe I also had the exclamation mark. Had scheduled an appointment with the dealer but after a few days, everything went back to normal by itself.

So I took the car to the dealership. They said they've seen this in other Lexus models multiple times before. Apparently sometime the DCM (Data Communication Module) does not power down properly when you turn off the car which then drains your car battery (in my case, completely). When that happens, the fix is to update the DCM software and recalibrate the rear camera. It took them several hours because they said they've never done it on a UX before. It's been 3 days - so far, so good. Will update if it comes back.
This has happened to me multiple times. The first time my battery was drained because the guy installing window tint let the battery drain. But since then 3 times my battery has drained without any reason. (Super frustrating - as the car has fewer than 11,000 miles) So today after I picked up my car from the dealer after they had it for 8 days. My dynamic gridlines are gone and the warning symbol is showing. I can't believe that the dealership would give me my car back every time with this issue. I now have a donor battery until they can get me a replacement battery for the car.
Going to try turning the steering wheel both directions to see if the lines come back. - WOW this worked. That was very simple and I am glad I know this trick. Silly that the dealership doesn't take the 30 seconds to do this. It is a huge issue in my satisfaction level.
