i want to get my calipers powder coated but i know i will have to take a part and rebuild my calipers to do so. hoping for some help from someone who has done this. Has anyone done this or do most just paint their calipers?

It's not terribly difficult, but a little hard to describe.
Start here to see if this is something you want to tackle. You can always have a shop do it for you if you're not sure.

The calipers should be sand blasted and cleaned completely before powder coating. Considering that, they will need to be completely disassembled.Originally Posted by Jbreezie

I did mine. All you really need is a compressor and air blower...and some basic hand tools.
They're fairly easy to do...but of course I've rebuilt many calipers before, soooo....

There's only one kit...I got it from the dealer. It's not expensive at all.Originally Posted by Artisdeff

cars 4 years old at most. why rebuild. are you just doing it cause you will have the brakes apart? usually you do a caliper rebuild at 10+ years or if something specific is wrong.

I haven’t done anything with the rears yet. Doing a 350 conversion on the rear wouldn’t yield much performance or aethestic results. If anything I would just powder coat them to match the front.Originally Posted by Artisdeff

The front kit price sounds right...the rear seems really out of whack.
Realistically the rear has was less pieces to it than the front. If the price they gave you is accurate, I would be shopping around...it seems really off.

lucky for me I have the 16’ is200t f sport. I already have the 350 brakes. Yeah I’m just looking to powder coat them at the same time. Originally Posted by Sasnuke
