well, i painted my calipers too. the front it's staying in my garage collecting dust but the rear is holding up good on the car.
i believe i painted like 5 coats of black gloss and 5 coats of clear. yes, VERY thick. i can wash and rub the calipers anyway i want.
i don't see why i would need to repaint them now. i don't see any chips yet. with this thick coats i think it will stay for a while.
here are some pics

only look at the rear, the front isn't painted

hahaa, nonono.... first it depends on the paint you use. the one i use, it has specific instructions saying that all coats have to be at least 10 to 15 mins apart, and do NOT put on anymore coats 1 hr after first coat. after that you need a week at least to totally dry it
so what i did it, on one sat, i cleaned the calipers, and put on first coat of black gloss, 15 mins (i waited 15 mins coz' every coat i put on was thick), 2nd, etc... until i put on the 5th coat at the hour.
then i let it dry for 2 weeks (reality proved that 1 week wasn't enough).
i cleaned the calipers again, put on the stickers, and repeat the same process and put on 5 coats of clear....
that's how i did it on my car

ok thanks
i was suggested to use G2 although thats not what was used when my calipers was painted..
i bought a paint long time ago, and i was waiting for a call from my mechanic when i can bring my car and use his lift to put car and take off all four wheels at the same time..
mean while when i was changing my tires the other day one of the guy who works there asked me if i want to paint my calipers and he just happened to have black paint for this specific purpose .. so he was changing my tires and paint my calipers as well ( free of charge ) but he only painted it once since my car wasn't for very long time in that tire shop..
so if i understand correctly now i need to paint them again, going use my paint this time.. and then going do clear with stickers i can't actually wait to see my car rollin' w/ stickers on calipers i think it adds a nice touch to any car especially if its says LEXUS on it

yeah that's correct. i didn't use g2, imho that's waste of money, so expensive for the paint whereas the engine enamel i got from kragen was only 3 bucks a bottle and i still have plenty left in the can. my paint it still holding up very well, no bubble and no chip, that means it's no problem
but watch out though. usually these paints, you put on and should not drive the car for the next 3 hrs or so. you want the paint to become dry to touch and also not bubble when you start braking
