Default Coilover Height Adjustment?

Ok, this may be a noob question, but I just got my coilovers on and will be getting the height set tomorrow. Whats the easiest way to do this? Do I have to keep raising and lowering the car to set it, or can I adjust it with the wheels on with it sitting on the ground?

Measure height at 4 corners and determine where you need them to be, do the math to be close.

Wheels off, adjust, drive around block and measure again.

Repeat as necessary

Im in the same boat as well. i have bc coils. im already lowered but may want to go a bit lower. im thinking of just taking off the wheels and moving the "turn rings" a few lines down. could i just count the lines? meaning the thread lines......

Have you ever heard of this new invention called a measuring tape?

All you need to do is measure the distance from the bottom of the threaded area to the bottom of the locking perch. Then you make sure the one on the opposite side matches. You repeat this for the two that you did not do yet. Make sure the measurements are the same for the two rears and the two fronts. All four do not need to be the same but the left rear should be the same as the right rear and the front left should be the same as the front right.

i also just installed Megan ez coilovers, im confused on the height adjustment while on the car, i know it says to loosen the bottom locking nut, however i cant twist the body to move, unless i turn the top locking nut, which in the instructions says not to loosen, because its the preload , however thats the only way i could raise it, help anyone?

^^ Same thing here. The threaded section is a pain in the *** to turn while on the car.

ok,just finished messing with the last rear coilover, what i did was loosen the bottom nut, and then turned the small locking nut, (not the bigger one), which moved the shock body also, its a pain like above stated, ....However for the fronts, i turned the bigger top to raise the car, will that damage anything in the future? anyone?

depending on what coilovers you have, you never want to turn the top 2 rings to adjust ride height as those 2 rings will adjust preload not height. you need to loose the very bottom ring at the bottom of the threaded sleeve. once that is loose you can then turn the top to rings with a wrench and it will move the whole system either up or down into the bottom of the shock.
